A size too big?

Post by Shredder- »

Hey all... I read in some recent posts (or maybe old) that it's better to have tighter shoes for playing (I couldn't find that post after searching..)... Is that true? Makes sense. Well I went ahead and got a size bigger that my normal shoe size (before I read that post) 'cuz my feet grow pretty fast..but they might just stop growing. (I was size 11 last year and I'm size 13 now..). My lavers fit just fine and I can do all moves and I have no discomfort (size 14). I just wanted to know for future refrence, is it better to get tighter shoes? And does any one recommend any good insoles? I tried a few but they all suck 'cuz they are like for comfort and can't withstand pressure of me jumping up and down. Mahalo

DO NOT get the Dr Scholls Memory foam. They fall apart so quickly

Get Spenco Sport insoles.

PS : I had the memory foam and they didnt help for high impact shred, and they fell apart after about 2 weeks. Spencos are teh best

I have some dr.scholl's arch supports (only extends to the ball of your foot, to the end of your arch), they're very soft, somewhat pliable and somehow, very supportive. I replaced my custom orthotics with them and regret ever having used hard plastic supports.

Yes definately!!!!! It makes dexing quicker and easier, and is pretty much better in every aspect.

Same here... Now, I'm using Dr. Scholl's gel insoles (flipped upside down) with Dr. Scholl's Tri-comfort elevated soles. I think they work pretty well.

Do not buy too small shoes.
I had size 10½ New Balance CT300s and I couldn't shred more than an hour with them because my toe nails hurt like hell after it. And the next few days I could barely walk.
Now I've got size 11½* Lavers and they are perfect for me.

Use that size of shoes you feel comfortable to shred with. That's what matters. Not too tight, not too bulky. What ever fits you the best. :)
