Your footbag washing method.

Alright, so i did a search and didn't see other topics on this.

I was just wondering what type of washing methods you guys use on your bags. I just came up with a method thats new too me that i find to work quite well. I use luke warm water, and get my bag saturated with water, then apply soap. i massage it very lightly for a little bit, then i fill the sink with water and submerge my bag into it. I gently squeeze the bag, then let it refill with water and squeeze it again to get all the soap out. i then apply sopa some more, and repeat this process depending on how dirty the bag is. I found this method to work alot faster then just applying soap>rinsing rpt. it seems like its alot less stressful on the bag to wash it that way too.

Does anyone have any other methods they use?

I don't wash my bags and they are always choice.

I'm convinced this washing bags fad is just a scam to get the bags to wear out quicker.

I saturate the bag in soap, then rub out the dirt, then rinse until I feel like it's un-soaped.

hmmm i wash my bags by just going to the sink. getting them wet.. adding some soap.. and rinse..works for me.

Why do people use warm water? Wouldn't that shrink the bag? I always thought cold water was less damaging in all aspects (Including colors running).

Cool water is the way to go. Hot water would expand the bag ( or something)

I use shampoo. Soap really makes the bags dry afterwards I suspect. I think some brands of laundry detergent is choice product to use for washing, like Snuggles.

Obviously your bags have never gotten encrusted with sweat because you havent played with Sam Colclough or Nate Linscott. If this happens, the bag becomes nearly impossibly to stall, and you definitely dont want to touch it anymore.

Obviously your runs are too short and Nate doesn't have a chance to cool down between runs.
Take more attempts, that way he won't overheat.

Oooooooh, I can hit 30 contact runs at will now.
About washing. I use cold or luke warm water, apply bar soap to the bag, put the bag in one palm, use the fingers of the other hand to individually press into the bag while rolling it circularly, every 20 seconds or so quickly running it under the faucet, which all the while is running, allowing the dirst to stream off the bag and into the sink. At the end, I thoroughly remove all soap by putting it under the running water, and then I gently squeeze the bag to remove excess moisture. I then towel dry or paper towel dry it to speed the drying process.

I use bleach and scorching hot water, to make sure all those nasty germs are taken care of. Once it's clean, I pitch it at my stucco garage to knock the water out of it.... then I put it in the dryer on the high setting to finish the process.

I use warm water and liquid hand soap that I squirt over the bag. I message the bag in my hands untill all the dirt is off.

Those of you who never washed a bag should try it at least once. It's kinda like going on another honeymoon with your special someone.

take dirty bag and place in (preferably sealable) pocket of hoodie/ shorts/ pants. place pants in washing machine along with a load of washing to save time, money and resources. add washing detergent and and fabric softener. turn on washing machine. wait for cycles to come to and end. remove wet clothing from washing machine and place in dryer. close door and turn dryer on. wait for all cycles to come to an end. remove cloths and locate the clothing item with your footbag inside. it should now be clean and dry.

i make my bags wet,then i massage soap onto it,whatever soap is in reach...bar soap or liquid soap,then i let the soap work for a while,then under running water i wash the soap out of the bag untill no dark water comes out of it!then i sqeeze it as ´hard as i can in a paper towel,in fact,i use 3 or 4 layers,then it is mostly dry and clean...i think it is good to let the soap in the bag for a while before u wash it out,so the soap can take away dirrt better!

Washing bags makes them sooooooo much nicer and softer.

Here's what I do:
- rinse bag in room temp water
- rub it on all sides on a bar of MILD bar soap (I think I use dove or something)
- massage it for a while
- rinse and lightly squeeze and keep massaging under the flow of water
- repeat the soap n rinse 3-4 times until when you squeeze it nothing brown or gross comes out, you want it to be just water coming out
- rinse for many many minutes over and over and over again, this is the most important step IMO. Soap left in the material will make it crunchy and shitty.

Sometimes I follow this up with the same massaging in fabric softener.. i mean.. it's made to soften fabric after all.. isn't that what we want?

But I repeat, RINSING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART!!!!!

Don't use crazy scented or strong soaps, it's bad for the facile.

I used to use Herbal Essences shampoos, but I found that I got dry, stiff bags from that. Now I use this method:

1. Using a water faucet, I turn the water to a lukewarm temperature.
2. I wet the bag.
3. Put some handsoap on the bag, and rub it in.
4. Rinse the bag.
5. Rinse the bag.
6. Put fabric softener on the bag.
7. Rinse the bag.
8. Rinse the bag.
9. Wrap two dryer sheets around the bag.
10. Put in dryer for 5-10 minutes.
11. Let the bag air dry.

I find that this helps me maintain a good level of softness with my bags.
