poem

me - those white and black keys
or multicolored, if you please
they - all make different sounds
all composed in the same fluid... medium
I - see the melody
hear the harmony
direct the symphony
experience the revalation
before the crowd sits down
repeat - skip the ending
constant standing ovation

im writing a song about a girl named Emily Wayman
ill start recording it today - these are the lyrics
she cries herself to sleep
diamonds in her eyes
she wakes before the sun
begins to rise

there's clouds in the sky

she takes a deep breath
she's thinking of us
there's so far to go
but she's had enough

had enough

swimmin in MnM's
candy coating's not your friend
and all the colors start to blend
is this the end?

what is it?

the endless nonsense
the lies of the boys
find a moment of calm
in all the noise

all the noise

the shreiks of her mom
over nothing at all
just close your eyes and pretend
that its different

you'll be okay

the days slowly pass
the goal so far away
the hardest of tests:
to survive

to escape

you'll be okay darling
you'll be okay
you'll be okay baby, baby
you'll be okay

just don't give up
just don't give up
just don't give up
just don't give up

we're waiting here for you
just like we always will
no matter what you do
just make it here
just make it to us

just make it

Yo Sam.

We've all been thinking how cool it's been when you've come to Chicago. I don't know if you're able, but I just wanted to invite you to this coming New Year's Jam, my friend. Dan is coming, maybe you guys can fly here together :).
