request: peter irish video

anyone have videos of peter irish doing his juggle/footbag routine? as an avid juggler and footbag enthusiast, this guy blows my mind.

has he released anything yet, and where would i be able to find it?

ummm... the DVD Fourkast has a Pete section, and there are two Evan Lovely videos from SJFF 4 with peter sections.

Jeff -- I do not believe Peter has let any videos of his routine get online, as amazing as it is. Ellis was filming it at this year's SJFF this last weekend, but Peter said that he wanted it to stay off the internet.

i don't really know peter at all but i don't think he wants anybody putting it up online. i think the only video tapes he lets people take are for his personal use. you'll just have to see it in person.

Hehe, do you think the Worlds organizers should've asked Peter (or anyone else) for permission to post their finals routines on the official Worlds site. I believe the "rights" for the competition footage are owned by Worlds organization. Maybe if a Worlds DVD was being released and sold for profit, it'd be a different thing. There are no "rights" and it is not wrong to film footbag competitions and put them online.

This is not competition footage.

This is footage of a show Peter does in which he footbags and juggles at the same time. Filming this and putting it online would essentially be like filming the act of a performer who makes all of their money from the shows they get -- it would be gouging their ability to sustain themselves off of performing. Of course, I'm not sure if Peter does many gigs anymore or what, but the fact remains... That he doesn't want it online. Maybe he should just speak up when he sees this.

I wanted to speculate on why Pete doesn't like this stuff to be online, but I don't feel that's fair. I will say that he does continue to do juggling shows for money, and makes a decent supplemental income from it. I agree with Nagasake's reasoning, and it really is WAY cooler to see Pete live anyway. I'm lucky he lives 20 min from me
