Tripod Battle - one -
This battle is bout everything that you love about videos with the shredders being the editors doing all the work with no one else to make a tasty lil 4 minute video give or take 30 seconds. Take into consideration whatever you please while keepin some things more key than others. (ex. - editing, overall video, music, skill, style, etc.)
If you vote, let's hear why you chose what. Comments are appreciated.

I picked Johnnys.
Joe- Great shred! The editing was a little on the not enough side. And the whole tying your shoes for 40 seconds threw the placing down a bit.
John-Well edited. i didnt like the music. And the shoe mod part was funny but i didnt really... i dont know. It didnt seem like it fit. Very good shred though!
Henry-Subtle editing. A lot more subtle than previous videos. I liked the red tints at the choruses in the song.
Johnny- incredible shred. Such cool combos. Wasnt over edited. i liked the music. Some things were off like the gunshot pixelating. But overall its my favorite video to watch. It may not be the best edited but its my favorite.

I didn't vote.
Remind you - I'm just analyzing and commenting - postitively and negatively.
Joe - You had some suprising strings in there. Great improvements, but editing wise I didn't feel a good flow with the music. The intro was a bit lengthy and dull, but for some reason I didn't mind too much. Wasn't impressed with the location either.
Hen - Your editin got a lot better with more subtlty, which is key. I didn't really like the lens flare effects with the music, yeah it was on beat, but it served little to no purpose. It's always nice seein people watchin you shred, so that was cool. Your spins are nice and controlled, makes me want to spin more. I liked how you had different locations and nailed the osis > ripwalk bsos. You did have like 2 different locations or so, but not many camera variations. The orange tint at the end wasn't really needed, maybe somethin else could have taken it's place.
Johnny - I'm in love with your shred, but I'm trying not to put skill level high up on the chain. I put shred level near the bottom cause with the different skill levels, it's pretty unfair to judge like that. I can't help it though...SO FAT !!!! I enjoyed the intro, a nice simple dungeon theme was well played with black and white/ cutout look to make it somewhat NES'sh . That song is fat, it's in a real tight skate vid, and I've been thinkin bout makin a vid to it, but I can't live up to how tough the song is. After that, editing is pretty simple and not a whole lot with the song, but the good thing about that is it never touches on the overediting side. Outro was kinda weak and you coulda used the song's effects more to your advantage. Like editing and cuttin it up more with the bullets shootin , and other transitions.

I voted for John Mahood, all the way! I LOVED the editing, the locations, the different shots that looked like continuation of the same string, the music. The shoe editing interlude was cool, and only took a few seconds, and the music was badass!
I LOVED that first shot on top of the garage, the 2 johns at once was really cool, and the cars moving in the background was a fun element of the shot. The stuff on the dock also made for a great location with some cool angles.
I really liked the shred in this video, too. Midstring vertigo, ps whirl> rev up, fairy SS drifter, DLO > ss DLO> symp DLO, all so cool, so unexpected! It made me psyched to play with you again, soon I hope. The shred variety combined with your good form and cool style made it really impressive and fun to watch.
Honestly, I think John's video is way better than the other ones. The editing was a lot of fun, really entertaining, and the shred was sick, top notch for this kind of project. Johnny's level of shred was certainly higher in some respects, but I wouldn't say it was necessarily more fun to watch than John's stuff.

watching...will post feedback as i go.
Johnny---
absolute animal. whirring swirl is disgusting...i assume you have sealed it by now, and you are the only one i have seen doing it other than vasek. nice long strings. it would be better if you were totally in the shot in the kitchen, but i did kinda like that whole scene...the clock and stuff made it somehow surreal. really good music.
Manhood---
....downloading...
pretty solid, the part in the middle was pretty funny (especially the ninja-type head-gear), even though it wasnt tripod, but at least it wasnt shred. the red tint got a bit overdone at parts, i thought, distracting a little bit. the rake stuff was good, and really strong DLOs.
Joe---
...buffering...
first impression=GREAT song! solid shred. nice stepping whirl bsos. could have been more variety. pheonix midstring was cool and suprising, and you made it look easy. WOW, alpine blurry whirl, NICE, and then a sweet 3. good stuff.
Hen---
damn...yours is taking the longest to DL
the ball of light was definitely distracting. nice spins. but i think osis>stepping was slurry at least once. hard to call, because it was a bit sideways from the camera, but whate're. editing was ok, the tinting was good, dunno about the fast-fwding. overall shred was pretty consistant, with a few really nice single tricks in there.
i have to give this to Johnny, and not only because of the level of shred.
music=solid
shred=disgusting, consistant, varied
locations= top knotch
editing=really subtle and minimal...a personal preference
thanks all four of you! way to take initiative!

Well, I appreciate John wanting feedback, but I don't feel comfortable on announcing my vote, and I'd rather just say what I liked and/or disliked about each vid.
HooDy- Awesome vid. I loved the editing, which was really really good. The dock was cool and that rooftop location was sick! Music was awesome. Awesome shred. The only thing I would've changed was maybe the camera distance. I felt you were a little far away.
Johnny- Another dope vid. The SMB warp tunnel intro was on point. The editing in that part was great. Shred was awesome of course. Song was pretty dope too. I thought the timing went well with the moves. I can't criticize much, I guess I liked it all around. Maybe some outside stuff. I like it when people shred outside.
Joe- Sweet vid. Loved the Indy-style intro. I liked the shred a lot. Song was cool, and liked the intensity of the shreds. I dug the editing too. Again, I really don't have much bad to say except maybe that power saying at the end wasn't audible. Maybe a little more variety in location would've been cool.
The Hen- Another great one. Minivan in the back kept it goin. It was neat to see that guy watching. Gave it more of a showman feel. Editing was kinda cool. Shred was aweome. Billy Joel holdin it down on the front end. Pretty sweet overall. Probably some close ups would've been nice.
All of these vids rocked. Thanks HooD for hosting this online event.

I didn't take into account skill because you are all of different levels and it seems this competition is encouraging editing skills so I focused on those.
I must say though, flip Johnny is good at footbag :O.
I was surprised with a lot of the stuff in Joe's video too, and I haven't seen much John footage but I like your style John.
Ok the editing:
John I voted you the best because your editing was top class, the whole thing flowed well, it made me laugh and it made me wow, I wasn't board for any of it.
Johnny your editing was nice and subtle, I didn't notice it too much at all and it fitted well.
Joe your editing was good I thought, it fitted well with the rest of the video, I must admit though, the shoe tieing went on for a bit long.
Henry, I didn't really like your editing, I still find it distracting from the shred, the lens flares were annoying and the random colour changes seemed unnessisary, it's cool that u got some friends watching u play though

thanks guys for all the comments
I was just trying out some new stuff and wanted feedback and got it , thanks!!!
the shoe tying was rather long but whatever , improvments are only nesesary in the endless mindbender of video editing.
That footage was kind of old considering i made it like a month before this
kevin- I would be willing to go against you and maybe some other people can join in to , i can take the fact that i am going to get crushed though

Easily Hood - no contest - really good editing - definitely the most interesting and well edited video - as well as the best use of the music in editing. I was actually shocked when I saw the voting results considering how much better I thought Hood editing was.
I would have put Henry second I think - I thought John and Henry both used the music a great deal better than the other people. I think John actually edited his whole video to the music - which is why it's sooooo much better than the other vids in terms of editing. Henry probably put together a lot of the footage without the music but definitely had significant moments that worked really well with the music and the most of the effects worked well. I think Johnny stuck his footage together in the order that it was filmed and the intro really didn't work well. Joe's editing was ok but didn't really make use of the music and some effects seemed just for the sake of putting them in.
Overall though I think all the vids were great and props to the people for entering the comp and getting the vids out there! Definitely proves that solo session videos don't have to be painfully boring. I was also really impressed with the level of footbag - especially Johnny's - who is fucking insane - and it looks like a lot of people voted on his footbag skill too (instead of his editing skill).
