So many moves
So many moves
One of the greatest things about freestyle footbag is that there's infinite amount of moves to be learned. There is stalling, hitting, dexing, ducking, diving, flying, symposium, setting, etc... You can also hit every move 2X, one on each side of your body, as well as link different combinations.
EX: every thing that you can hit out of or into a clipper can also be done with a heel stall (generaly). This is just one example. There are endless possibilities, and a great deal of the game that has yet to be explored.
Not one person can learn every footbag move, and every person that learns a move does it differently because of their style and body type. The best part about all of this, is that YOU get to pick and choose the moves that YOU want to learn. I can't think of another sport with as much freedom and diversity as footbag. Remember that footbag is about what you can do with your body and a ball without using you hands or arms. So be creative and express yourself how YOU want to do it. -Larson

word man. Don't let these guys get ya down. It is pretty unbelievable that there are well over 1000 footbag moves out there. I never would've guessed before I started freestyle. All those points you made were cool too. Like you're right, when someone is in a circle, or competing in a shred event, it's like you got your 'arsenal' of moves, and you can like bust em when you need to. Thanks for your comments Larson. Welcome to 1996. Haha jkLarson wrote:I'm just trying to show my love.
Sorry, had to get in on the fun hehe

It's just a matter of math, and no, not all have been named, but component form is usually sufficient.
Sooooo you have over 100 sets and let's make a conservative estimate of say 30 core moves.
100*30*2 = 6000
And that's being conservative, all combinations of ducks/dives haven't been taken into account here (among other things).
Multiply by two because there are two moves for every combination of one move and one set.

Be NICE sureshit (ana_ali) ! That is the beauty of footbag...so many possibilities...and none of us are close to having them all unlocked, not even vasek. Makes me want to play just thinking about all those locked doors that can be opened next sessionana_ali wrote:No shit, Sherlock?
More C4 please <3
totaly--
there are alot of possibilities.
For example, you can hit Pixie from toe, inside, outside and cross body,
then you can duck it, weave it, zulu it, dive it, spin it, inspin it, spin duck it, etc...
then you can hit like zillion down time components from it. JUST FROM ONE SET. Think about the rest...
But we all knew that, so: NO SHIT SHERLOCK?

Someone posts saying how great footbag is, and they've just discovered the infinite possibilities. And you cut him down because most of us already realise this. That's lame. That is really REALLY lame. Try not to be so elitist, just because everyone isn't at the same level as you.
Larson: Rock on! How good is footbag
<3
p.s. Did I mention the responses were lame?

There's a difference between cutting down someone for realizing something not at first apparent and something FREAKING OBVIOUS. If someone came up to you on the street and remarked that the sky is blue, you wouldn't commend them on their observation. I respect that he likes footbag and I'm glad he's taken it up, but what he said isn't something that requires heavy thinking.james_dean wrote:Someone posts saying how great footbag is, and they've just discovered the infinite possibilities. I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just being honest.
