A few years ago my good clipper went gimpy and I cant set chit off it since then unless I freeze it. But that doesnt help during a string, so freezing it doesnt always help. You say you are off balance but what moves put you off balance? Or is it because you are worn out after a routine(a footbag routine is alot harder than a 100 yard dash imao)
I think for balance a really really good tip is to try and keep your head still. The other thing is to become conscious of what you're doing with your arms - arms make a significant difference to balance. Apart from that - try and be controlled and finish your dexes on moves early so that you have time to get in position well. I think with a lot of moves your balance will improve over time - for example I used to be always off balance with pdx drifter - such that I could never hit anything beyond a bail out. Now with practice on my drifters I feel fairly confident with stepping out of pdx or even blurry drifters - it's just a matter of time and practice. Keep working on moves until you can hit them better than 9/10 attempts and link them to a move as easily as you'd start a run with the second move.

to improve balance for footbag one must practice hitting moves while maintaining balance. Certain moves require more balance than others, like an around the world as compared to a drifter (harder to keep balance). You need to preactice the moves that give YOU balance problems, concentrating on hitting the moves while maintaining proper balance rather than just focusing on hitting the moves. Usually, this involves improving your form on a trick or minimizing extraneous movements of your arms and legs. Remember, always try to stay balanced over the bag. Leaning back is bad.

A hackyslacker buddy of mine, who I'm trying to teach to play freestyle (i'm a horrible teacher) has a problem with like, totally losing his balance doing toe stalls. Like, he always drops it after 4, and when he's doing them, he like, leans over forward but moves backwards. It looks really silly. I dunno what I can do to help him though. I just tell him "Keep your balance". It doesn't work. I think he needs Lavers, honestly.
