I remember when I was in boot camp I met this one kid named Darby that said since he was black and Asian that he was "Blasian." Anyone else ever have that one happen to them?

I've never met any Blasians in real life, but once there was a Blasian in the "Law & Order". He was a serial raper and murderer.

3. Yes, the Japanese took/stole lots of stuff from Chinese culture, including Ramen, Chinese characters, Buddhism, etc.
4. The shred scene in Asia is very young, but it's growing extremely rapidly. There were 10 Japanese at Worlds 05, 7 in 04, and 3 in 03. Each year they've gotten good results too.
5. There are a couple shredders in China, but the scene isn't nearly as big as in Japan.
6. There are over 100 serious shredders in Japan. 2 have competed Open at Worlds.
7. Tiger Woods is half black and half asian. One of Japan's most popular singers, Crystal Kay, is also half black and half Japanese.
8. Jeremy's explanation that Footbag was developed in the US explains why it has yet to spread to Africa/South Am/Asia to an extent, but it still doesn't really answer the question of why the sport is predominantly caucasian. There are plenty of blacks and asians in America and Canada, yet only a handful play. If Team Japan hadn't shown up in Helsinki, the only non-white Freestyler at the entire tournament would have been Tuan Vu, and he only really competed in routines.

There might be plenty of blacks and asians in the US and Canada but they only make up a small percentage of the total population. I'd also say that the average new school freestyle footbagger comes from a middle class background since most of us have an internet connection plus enough time to practice lots and are fairly progressive. Of course there are exceptions but I'm sure those factors play a big part in why not so many other races play in the US and Canada. I think in Australia we see the same trend and I think that the percentages of non white people in the general population is repeated in the shred scene here.
