(I hope this is what you were confused about because otherwise won't i look the fool  )

I also agree that "mood narcotics" aka anti-psychotics, are dangerous. Sadly some people need them to function in this modern society. One of my ex-girlfriends was prescribed to clonazepam, an anti-psychotic of the highest degree. If she didn't take it she would get very moody and depressive and couldn't even go to work or school. One of the by-products of modern society is that everyone needs to have the same mind-state to succeed. Its sad but these drugs, while harmful, are the only way some people can live a normal life. Don't assume that people take these drugs because they WANT to......believe me, some people NEED to.

P.S. i tried them once... 8O .....i could barely stand up..and that was only on her daily dose!!!!
ohhh boy, i went on a summer long kick of clonazapam, i lost half that summer in a drug induced black out..i would take up to 8 of them at a time, oh and by the way, their highly addictive, glad i strayed aay from that garbage.

I would think that "mood narcotics" would be the equivalent of anti-depressants, not anti-psychotics which I think are mainly used for "counteracting or diminishing the symptoms of psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia, paranoia, and bipolar disorder." In cases of moderate to severe depression, it's hard to impossible for them to just "learn to deal with it." In these cases, saying that people just need to "learn to deal with their emotions" reminds me of thin people saying that overweight people just need to just "learn to eat less" or something. :?

But maybe I misunderstood you guys.

I did. I was saying that I thought maybe he meant "anti-depressants" not "anti-psychotics," which I thought were different.

Good point Moxie.....there is a fine line these types of drugs. I guess its to easy to clump mood modifiers into one big category like depressants or hallucinogenics.

Ben....look at what words that are highlighted in your post...its easy to see why i assumed you didn't know.

Yeah, I didn't mean the ones who really have problems, I meant taking them for no actual reason. Like taking them just for playing a martyr or something.
I'm not very good at describing these things in English. Seath posted that Advil etc. concerns him; it concerns me too and I wanted to say that same with this "fashion" goes with "mood narcotics" too.
Seath wrote:I like pot but I've been smoking it too much lately so I'm taking a break, know what really concerns me? Advil. I see so many damn people (mostly girls) who pop one of those whenever they have the slightest amount of pain, that's bad news man. I just really dont like chemical narcotics. I try to let my body use its own chemicals to deal with negative parts of my life.

Being a reliant on a drug is a sign of insecurity.

Drug addiction stems from people with a certain childhood that develops the attitude that there is no long term happyness achievable. It becomes the easy choice that makes everything better now but everything worse later.

I suffered from a terrible addiction to marijuan long time ago.

I will tell all of you recovering addicts one thing

You never recover, you will always think about that high, it will always be in the back of your mind. An addict stays an addict forever the difference is can you focus your addiction on more constructive ways, Like footbag, A career, a family. Anything constructive and healthy that you can be obsessed about. Something good you have to do everynight to feel any kind of happyness. It may not feel as good as being high but your life will feel like it has more to look forward too, you will feel more controled with your choices and decision making. You wont feel the need to hide from pain. Pain has a purpose, and trying to water it down or hide from it is a means to just more and more pain in a later time.

Dont lie to yourself dont think you can be like everyone else and be normal, cause the fact is alot of us arent. Addiction is a serious condition and can creep its head in bad ways more than drugs so analyze your feelings dont trust your first instict ask yourself is this what i really want to do or is this just the quick easy temporary happyness to cover up some pain/insecurities/lack of confidence.

I guess if you feel like you have an addictive personality my advice to you is to never ever ever trust yourself. you are your own worst enemy dont be naive and stupid and pretend otherwise or esle you will fail! Dont say the words im not like everyone else, im different it wont be like that for me. I laugh my ass off at idiots who say that cause they are the ones who are that person. Every person you see whos life is controled and or ruined by addiction are the ones who thought they were different.

Your not fucking different your as weak and as vulnerable as everyone else in the world so shut the fuck up and take control of your life before its to late.

A serious addiction to anything never dies.

Its easier to quit marijuana than herione/crack due to the difference of physical withdrawl affects.

That doesnt mean either addiction ever leaves, that doesnt mean you will ever be the same person. You can quit any addiction you want it doesnt mean your not an addict. Its been 5 years since i ever smoked marijuana on a regular basis but i still think about it its still on my mind i still know that i have yet to experience anything that would not have been more fun high. that shit doesnt leave you, I love marijuana and i always will. But i channel that into footbag into my engineering career into living a healthy happy single life maintaining good relationships with freinds and meeting new people.

Even with all this stregnth, confidence and success i have found i still think about marijuana at least once a day, and that is a part of me its something that will never go away. Thats my true message to all of you who are recovering from any addiction wether its sex, drugs, video games, pain killers, cutting you can battle these things and become a better person but a small part of the person who needed these things will always in some way remain.

So never ever stop recovering dont think your safe or you have changed be on your guard and continue growing every day.

if your not growing your dieing

If you read my post and thought that any of that means your fucked for life than you must be very narrow minded cause that wasnt my message at all.

If you think this concept works for all then you dont know many drug addicts

Its this narrow minded attitude that leads people into serious problems.

Everybody says what you just said, Only some of them are strong enough to stay to it. Marijuana is powerfull and can make alot of your inner demons and conflicts appear to be gone and this is what turns you from smoking in moderation to being sober in moderation.

Have fun roll the dice smoke some pot sacrifice some brain cells and some cash, risk getting aressted, and risk falling to a path of drug addiction and depression. I did it i made it out ok and got a life lesson out of it, will you be this lucky?

Dont think your different than anyone every time you make a moronic statement like "its just pot" "I dont do it alot" "I function better when im high" "Pot keeps me balanced" "It helps me get a good night sleep" "I only do it on weekends" "I only do it when im not off work and im bored" "Im gonna quit when i go to college" "Im gonna quit when i graduate collge" "im gonna quit once i find my career job" "Im gonna quit when i have a family"

Everyone who has said these things is a fucking IDIOT, I would know cause i have said 50 percent of them and was in fact a complete idiot.

Your going to do what you want to do, At least you can say you werent warned.

I hope nobody has these problems and i hope all of you can smoke in moderation at a party once or twice a year but unfortanately i know that the odds are against you and a few of you are going to have some tough times, mark my words when it comes to drugs the more you continue using the worse everything becomes!!

Nobody becomes a better, smarter, more interesting, or more respectful person from drug use. That is just a fact, the older you get the more you see this, the more you look down on moronic stoners the more you thank yourself for not being one anymore. Alot of you will see this in time, trust me. if you dont see it in time its because you unfortanatly are one of them.

I think we have some confusion here about the word "addicted" - I would say it's impossible to do something in moderation if you are addicted. "Addicted" means you can't help but do it - at least that would be my rough definition of the word.

It's definitely possible to drugs in moderation. I've been smoking weed since I was 15 and have always smoked with a very high degree of moderation. Ie. it will often go months without me smoking at all - then I might have a joint or two and then not smoke at all for some time again. I have no problem with smoking weed - I just don't do it very often - nor do I want to do it very often. I treat all substances like this - apart from maybe alcohol and caffine but I haven't got drunk to the stage where I can't remember things in almost 6 months and I plan on keeping things that way. I have a large amount of friends who also treat drugs in the same manner and we've done a lot of different stuff together but never been harmed by it. I believe that there are two kinds of drug users. Intelligent drug users who use the drugs for the experience and know what they're doing - have read up on it and talked to other people and know how to be safe. Then there are destructive drug users who use the drugs as an escape - to dull their reality or whatever. I sometimes use alcohol in this manner but try to deal with my emotions instead. I think in society today there are plenty more destructive users than intelligent users - hence all the problems etc. (also there are probably lots of "stupid users" as well).

So before using drugs I'd say - first work out exactly why you want to use them. If you don't know why don't use them - or if it's because other people are using them or because you think your life sucks or you're bored - don't use them. Then make sure you have read or otherwise found out what you can expect from the drugs, how to know they're safe, that you're in a safe environment when you take them (especially the first time) and that you have people you trust around you (don't do drugs by yourself). Finally make sure you're getting the drugs from somebody you trust. If you don't think you have very good willpower never do drugs.

These really only apply to things harder than weed but I'd say it's fairly similar with weed and certainly if you ever find yourself choosing to get stoned over socialising with people or doing anything constructive and positive - quit drugs immediatly!!!

Yeah keep that motto and see where it gets you in the real world buddy.

People like you are the ones who still live with there parent past the age 25 and are doing nothing in college. cause they just chill and smoke herb. I have seen casual marijuana turn bad in more cases than good.

To those like jeremy who can handle its use in moderation i appluad and confess absolute jeoulosy. To naive idiots smoking pot in there parents basement working a shit job or not working at all i laugh.

im not atacking anyone dont get pissed at me just smoke some herb and chill your problems will be waiting for you when your out of weed the next mourning, have fun :)

This post was about people who are recovering so please dont try and discredit my opinion i really hope sharing my experiences could possibly help someone whos in a similar situation.

There is another post where you can proclaim how harmless and fun casual drug use is. This post however is about people quiting.

and quiting one drug by doing another in moderation is not healthy so for the sake of people reading this post for its original intention take your opinion elsewhere.

Im not a drug nazi im an adult with good reasons to avoid any amount of drug use. I fully support all those who want something better out of life than being high. All you high school kids who got nothing to do besides party and smoke pot more power to ya have fun and do it safely but dont try and defend it like its something by any means healthy, smart, safe, and or smart.

People trying to quit need support and information more so than any user needs justification or acceptance for his habbits (even a small one)

i think there is stereo type issues going on

people who smoke pot will make it nowhere in life

I think thats totally wrong and its the way the user looks at the drug.

It goes like half and half,

1. There are smokers who smoke and dont care about anything and just smoke and chill.

2.There are smokers who use smoking as a took for greater thinking to get further into different feilds of study.

Song writers im sure of toke before writing a song to fully express themselves in which they wouldnt sober. A different part of your brain that is never used otherwise opens up for a much more clearer vivid tthinking.

smoking to open up the brain for more further thinking is perfectly alright and they will make it in life. I know people who are strait a students and smoke everyday. Its just the way you let the drug have effect on you.

hope you get my point

I was attacking your statement of just chill and smoke some pot.

THIS POST IS ABOUT QUITING WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU SAY THIS

Do you see me arguing this in a pro pot mesagge post

read the fucking title of the post and take your opinion else where cause they have nothing to do with QUITING

Since this post is about people who are trying to quit, then yes im speaking from stereo types that they probably fit or else why would they want to quit?

PLEASE READ THE TITLE OF THIS POST and think about what you are posting your telling someone who is trying to quit drugs its ok to smoke pot. That is where im getting pissed off. Cause if you have a fucking drug problem.

GO TO A DIFFERENT FUCKING POST AND DEFEND YOUR HABBITS

If your trying to quit then stick around and take my advice for what it is.

If you can handle drugs in moderation and still go to your job every mourning then why the fuck are you on this post.

If i said these things on a post that was titled "Casual pot smokers corner" then everything im saying is stupid and im an asshole

But its not so talk about your controled casual habits somewhere else. Show some fucking respect to the people who are trying to deal with a serious problem the right way instead of chilling and smoking herb
