Well, I emailed a couple people on the board over at footbag.org. Maybe they'll give me some fresh insight and ideas as well. I also registered the domain http://www.usfootbag.com . Maybe if we get the site big enough it'll make Steve Blough sell his children or something.

Yep, that's true. This thread has developed into two threads essentially discussing the same thing. The other one is 'Supporting the IFPA', located here in General Footbag. Feel free to read the other thread, because it has some good information. I'm going to get with one of the moderators to make a sticky, to give us at least email contact information for each of the U.S. footbaggers that wish to contribute to the sport's growth. When you see this sticky, you can PM the moderator hosting that thread to give them your contact information if you want to contribute and be a part of the growth of footbag in America.
If you think you can help with the beginning of this process, like helping build the USFootbag website, or have resources to contribute this will be a good way to channel our efforts.
Thanks

I voted "Yes" in the poll, but I'm actually undecided. (There just wasn't a choice) I think it would be cool to see footbag on tv and to always be able to play with new people on the street. However, one of my favorite things about footbag is that not everone does, and by "not everyone" I mean hardly anyone. I think that is pretty cool. I like how unique it makes me feel.
The poll is actually not a question that concerns me very much. Not matter what happens to footbag's growth it will still be just as cool.

"Back to the essence."

FOOTBAG COULD BE THE BIGGEST WORLDWIDE SPORT EVER.
1-CHEAPEST SPORT
2-LEAST TIME CONSUMING
3-MOST ACCESSIBLE(SP?)
I played on think strip of grass in a mountain village in Africa and the next day kids came to me playing with a waded up ball of grass tied together with a jungle vine. The object was quite usable, expecially for barefeet. Just an example of how everyone in the world could play footbag at any point in time.
I think competitions are growing very quickly and the world IS responding rather quickly. A few more lucky promotions and a lot more effort could potentially(sp) create major opportunities for some players.
Now that I'm injured all the time I'm spending a lot more time on other aspects of footbag than just training hard.

Awesome! Thanks Lon, this year is going to be key for the sport. Now that we're getting everyone organized, we'll be able to more efficiently promote the sport in each of our cities/states/countries. If anyone would like to contribute, please PM me with your name, age, email, and if you'd like a contact phone number where you can be reached. This message is not just for people who want to be sponsored. This will be for ANYONE who wishes to contribute to the growth of footbag in any way. If you've already emailed Lon with your contact info, don't worry about PMming me because I'll just get it from him. Let's make 2006 the best year for footbag ever!
