First off, Lucas and Toby SWEET sweet bags. Toby, I hate to say it but that bag looks so perfect it looks like it was machine-made! That's the mark of a superior stitcher for sure. Lucas, that spiral pattern is awesome! I've been thinking of trying that in one of my next ones. Anyway, here's another look at my latest bag, since the last pic was kind of a tease.

Edit: Now that I look at it, it kinda looks like a Spidey bag too huh?

the picture lies...the one on the left is smaller (both are midway between a golf ball and an abshire mini...sorry, couldnt fint my golf ball). also, the one on the left is my newest one. its got some nice new features--
-stitched with upholstry thread that will not break (thanks for the tip, moxie)
-filled with a new mix of poly pellets and steel BBs
-gathered more so its tighter and smaller

I've heard you have to pre-stretch upholstry thread. Is this true? I used deer sinue on one of my bags, and I must say it seems to have really stretched out super-quickly which I wasn't happy about. For the last 3 bags I used button thread which seems to work the best so far. I went on the recommendation given to me by the lady at the fabric store. I think she was the one that told me about the pre-stretching of upolstery thread, and said that button thread was also very strong, with no pre-stretching necessary.

Oh, awesome bags btw :)

The lady at my fabric store told me apholstery thread won't stretch? What's the right kind?

i dont think it does stretch...in my attempts to break it by hand (impossible) it also showed no signs of stretching at all

Okay cool. I may pick up some upolstery thread as well then. I did the hand stretch/break test on the button thread and same thing, no stretch or break. I think there are different types of button thread though, so make sure you ask the lady which one is strongest. I originally had bought some thread from WalMart, don't remember which kind, but that broke fairly easily. Needless to say I never used that on any bag.
