Good comparison - in Australia we had a famous saying "all the way with LBJ" which is about how close the ties between Australia and the US were at the time and many people compare that to the links between our governments now. Much like Bush - it was our desire for better economic relations with the US that led us to going to war in a country that was really fairly insignificant to our lives although obviously Vietnam is a great deal closer to Australia than Iraq.
I really haven't studied enough US politics to know much about Johnson apart from his relationship with Australia but in terms of effects relevent to me - I'd say Johnson was better in although I disagree with both the political sentiment at the time and the decision to support the US in going to war - the consequences of that actions was ultimately a political awaking in Australia which lead to a brief period of high social policy and probably our greatest leader.

The best way to get rid of Bush, and I have high hopes, is to take back control of the Senate and the House in 2006. That way we can start the impeachment process and get that fool out of office.

... You're fifteen... Shhh. Anyone under the age of being able to legally drive doesn't have any idea on just how much a political leader REALLY is effecting our lives. You have no idea how much damage Bush has done to mine, and many other's taxes as adults and such. Not to mention finding a job while going to college is... not easy, lets just say that. "Why did he stop reading the story teacher?", guess what, that shit does NOT fucking matter at all when your country's getting sucker punched by some fucking hajis using our own Commercial Airline jets as bombs to blow up the two biggest buildings in the US. Those two building are also the one target that would throw our economy out of whack... it's the fucking World Trade Center... That basically screws us in the ass, and he just sits int he fucking class room, staring blankly, wondering... "I shouldn't've ate that chilly dog for lunch... Damn... This book sucks, why am I reading My Dog Skip to 1st Grade childern... What would daddy do? Maybe I should do my job and declare a state of emergency... Nah, I'll finish this damn book, take a shit, play some golf, finish my vacation, and then declare it."

Getting a job is harder and harder due to rising taxes. And I just read in the paper that he's taking MORE money, MORE, money out of Education and Medicare to raise Military funding by 7% and someother funding program that we dont really need by 10%. It was like, 2.1 Trillion dollars he's using to do this along with some other shit.
This country went from a 3 Trillion surplus, to being over 4 trillion dollars in national debt... Double-u, Tee, Eff.

I would have to say that the ONLY good thing that I, personally, have gotten from Bush, is a good boost on my Military career. When I joined the Guards, I got a $20,000 sign-on bonus, Got the College Kicker on the ASVAB test, so now I get over $700 a month, set aside for my college. I was promoted 2 ranks within only 7 months of being in the service too. I'm now at E-3 Pay Rate, PFC, Private First Class. And I'm Split-Op, which means it should've taken over 14 months for me to get to that rank. But recently, benefits have been fucking sky-rocketing cause Bush want this Military to be WAY bigger than it really needs to be. I just got 6 people to join the Guards, they ship down to Basic Training in 3 weeks. Guess what, I get $1000 for each of them, simply becuase i referred them to my Recruiter... Not to mention I get about $2800 for Basic Training, and around $3000 for my Advanced Individual Training, and I get about $150 per 2-day drill, which happens once a month. Now, let's recap, I will have received...(Do some math...) $45,400 approximately by August, '06. That's for a person, that hasn't even been MOSQ yet, I can't be deployed yet. That's $45,400 in your tax money, for a person, that hasn't done a damn thing for the country yet, except train himself to get ready, to do something for his country. And there are many many thousands just like me out there. Havn't done a damn thing for you people yet, and I've received almost $50,000 dollars in my name, for a non-full-time job, I only go to Guards for 2 days at a time, once a month... Mix all that in with the job that I want to have, (CNC Computer Specialist) and damn... I'm doing pretty good. Going to school to be a CNC Computer Specialist, don't have the job yet.
