Hardest Link Ever?

Post by mosher »

What do you think is the hardest link that has ever been hit?

I can think of some toughies that vasek has hit like spinning symp double down>symp flurry and stuff like that.

What is the toughest link you've ever seen?

Also, what do you think is the toughest link that could hypothetically be hit?

Here are a few that come to mind, by various players. I've seen all these hit on video.

Vasek: double spinning osisx2

Lon Smith: Big apple to blurriest, blurry torque to bullwhip.

Jim Penske: swifter to flurry, definitely a candidate for hardest 4-4 link I've seen.

Ales: triple ATW x2

I disagree. Sure, Fury and Paradon Swirl are hard moves, but the link from mirage > paradon isn't hard.

I've hit gravedigger > whirlwalk. I think thats a tougher link.

triple around the world (in to out) > dimwalk by Vasek

thats the only time ive ever seen a move other than a BOP being hit out of it. Probably need so much control to pixie out of it!

Yeah, I was gonna say Derek's 69 > 69 also.
Void > void is huge, I think James was the first I saw hit that.
Vasek's marius > mobius [repeat] attempt!!! (I'm seriously actually having trouble hitting it in my imagination!)
Jorden's double blender > blurry whirl > blurry whirl > double blender.
A second vote for blurry torque > bullwhip!
Vasek's flurry > quantum whirl [repeat] (I think I actually envisioned this as one of the hardest combos imaginable before I saw him hit it :?)

Also blurry torque > blurry torque (Derek's is sooo crunchy!)
I also saw Derek stepping duck out of 69 (and I there's video of him hitting 69 > blurriest, it's the but still huge)
Oh, and here's another combo Derek hit: alpine matador > blurtigo @____@

Vasek's archnemesis > nemesis attempt from Worlds 04

Andrew Grant's blurry drifter > pdx torque [repeat]
+ blurry drifter > ripped warrior [repeat] attempt

Jorden's high plains > whirr [repeat]

I don't know, but I'm always really impressed by Felix's food processor > spinning blender combo (and I guess Vasek hit that repeat too, hey??)

Vasek in Final shred:

- superduperfly > stepping ps eggbeater
- flurricane > smoke

Felix in Art of Game DVD:

- whirring swirl > montage

hardest link I've hit - which isn't comparable with some of the ones here is ps whirl>high plains drifter.

I think I've seen a vid where Vasek hits double blender>gyro baroque? Or similar? Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

seconded just because I challenged you to hit it (actually it's pretty damn huge :P)

Double Blender>Gyro Barroque is on raw shred, he nearly hits it bsos.

um Vasek's food>spinning blender>rpt? (or was it the other way around?) That's pretty huge and difficult I would imagine.

This thread is interesting, because it also shows how people have different opinions about what is hard and what isn't.

Big Apple to Blurriest is on Vortex, one of Chad's vids. Blurry torque to bullwhip is on several vids, including Just Shred2, and True Playaz? It's from a CSS, so its on a few vids.

Fury to plasma is cool, especially when Sunil hit it at Worlds 02. That was so long ago, AND he hit it under pressure during comp.

Triple ATW to dimwalk doesn't really strike me as one of the "hardest links ever." It's more like hard trick to easy trick, maybe medium grade difficulty on the link. For me, a good link usually involves 2 hard tricks, or failing that, some difficult shift in momentum or timing that makes it hard to link the 2 tricks. Zooming for example, or blender to stepping, etc.

As for fury to paradon swirl, I can understand people not thinking its that hard. I guess its just that my furies have always been so weak, that the combo impresses me, but yeah, if you have a strong fury, it may not be that impressive for you.

A couple more combos that came to mind:
Ryan Mulroney in 2000: PS whirl to bedwetter.
Ahren in 2000: food processor to tombstone
Sunil in 2001/2?: HPD to bedwetter.
Sunil in 2003: HPD to fury.
