Peng - getting new muscles
Peng - getting new muscles
I tried to toestall a knife I dropped today while doing dishes. It went between my toes, pointy side down. I realized how stupid it was and since I came out of the incident unscathed, saw it as a sign to start my footblog. My website and blog are under mass construction, this will be a nice alternative.
My journey into footbag started one fateful night while I was doing something in my window. My window overlooks a beautiful view of a parking lot and there, I saw the infamous Tom Mosher playing footbag with a friend. I was intrigued, although admittedly, more so by the shirtless boys than the footbag. I called out to them, "Hey, what are you all doing?" And Tom goes, "Hey! Watch this! I'll show you something cool."
And that's how it all got started.
So let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Pengpeng Du, and I'm a 20 year old student at Queen's University. My major is Health Studies and Art History and in my spare time, I play with recipes and am an anatomy lab technician (I'm great with a scapel!) to pay the bills. My name is spelled Peng, but pronounced not the way you'd think. It's pronounced like 'tongue' with a 'P'.
To be honest, I am awful at footbag. I wanted to start because it was a reason to buy cute shoes. Dammit, I am a shoe whore and I like it that way. I started thinking... footbag? Psh! No sweat. How wrong I was. Things don't seem to click with me very quickly. Maybe it's this little object I have to somehow be able to manipulate. I was never very good at ball sports. But as Tom puts it, "This is a bag, not a ball." So I guess I'll just have to stick with it. It is rather fun, in an obcessive compulsive kind of way.
Ah... fuck. I've procrastinated enough already. I have an essay to get back to -_- Damn biomedical ethics... Damn hangover... Why did I drink so much last night?

I thought of making this blog into a modified webcomic. I am just doodling the cast at the moment. I'm not sure if this endevour would be welcome or not, but I'm posting it anyway.

More to come?
Onto my news. I've been stretching out my sprained ankle everyday. I can finally crank it all the way again! I went to ballet this morning and played with a footbag in my pointe shoes. Who needs lavers? :p

Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
keep your head up and don't give up:-)

Presenting the second member of the cast... Matthew Cross!
More to come? Who's next?
Onto my news, footbag today sucked. I played a little bit, but I wasn't feeling it at all. Maybe I'll try a little later on tonite. I still suck at footbag. My footbags are looking fine though. ^^ Got an update on Maki, and she's doing very well. I'm glad I gave her to Dan, she's got a good home now.
Essay... essay... exam... essay. So is the monotony of my life right now. Alas.
