New event: Single person "Most Rippin Run"

Post by Muffinman »

I was watching the AMAZING Most Rippin Run from SJFF that Jorden put together and started thinking about our next Hackrifice tournament and thought it would be neat to just invent events instead of doing the same old. I came up with a single shredder "Most Rippin Run". There are so many great things about this event:
-No time limit -- unlike 30 second shred you go until you drop (no hurry, no stress, no worries) -- you can play slow and styley!!
-More accurate judging -- rather than judging based on length (Jim should have won every single match -- did you see him SHRED??) it would be based on similar elements to 30 second shred. Perhaps a diferent formula would have to be used to put more of an emphasis on length, though? I'm not very familiar with judging events... BOPing (I totally can't remember why we use that term? Or did I get it wrong?) more than 3 times would eliminate you, as would trick-repitition.
-Spectator appreciation -- as fun as it is to watch two shredders go head to head (don't get me wrong, I LOVE Most Rippin Run), the audience would be able to watch every shredder and see everything they did -- maybe judging could be performed based on crowd noise? That would be interesting! This way, with one player at a time, the audience would have a more accurate idea of how well each player did...
-No competitor -- unlike Most Rippin Run you're not actually competing with anyone at the same time. I was watching Jorden's video and having to rewatch every match so I could see everyone shred and it really hit me how different people have different ideas of what a rippin run is from watching them compete. No worries here -- do what you do and have all the focus on you.

I spent too much time explaining that last point and lost all the rest. But basically it combines everything. It can be like a routine in that you plan it out and you can go for 2 minutes if you don't drop, it's like 30-second shred in that's it would probably average about 30 contacts, it's like Most Rippin Run...pretty obviously.

I had some other ideas too, but it's almost 5 in the morning and I haven't eaten for a long time...

I really like the idea of the single person rippin' run. It gives people a chance to really shower their string length and style, without doing a routine. Sounds great, I'd compete

That sounds like a cool idea. I'm sure it'd be fun to watch. Having no time limit would be good cause that would get rid of the advantage shorter people have in shred 30.

Is there trials? Would be bad if you messed up early in the run.

It would be like a shred circle without the circle, persay. It would be awesome because then people could really show their stuff without worrying about the music or the time limit. Sounds great.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.
