Injured players roster

Quantum Symp whirl without warming up at all is a hip hurter. It's been bad for about a month now, and i'm finally taking some time off. I'll see how it feels after a week with some stretching and such. It gets stiff and sore when I play, and even worse the next day if I try 2 days in a row.

Justin dale hurt his sciatic 9/29/04. Recently 1 year ago.
Ricky Moran was hurt some time right before worlds 04. Remember he wasn't kicking? Maybe some time in August, 04?
Ricky and I have been trying to keep it on the down low. Its definitly time for us to come back. We've been kicking this summer, we started slow (I worked on style stuff and ricky did only crazy unique move strings that were like 2-5 contacts at most.) and are almost back in rhythm. But we're both still limited on certain aspects of the game (ex. I can't paradox symp anything! at all!!) I would definitly say were not on the footbag injured list anymore. Were almost kicking regularly.
so now for the gossip....
Ricky has been getting really strong and healed up lately so what does he do but go and mess it up....He decided to go skating at a park and learn to ride the bowl (now ricky's not really skated.....ever). He starts getting comfortable and goes for some air and comes down in a mangled mess. There may have been mild cuncussion and he broke his wrist, (thank god his legs came out intact, completely, not a scratch) crazy luck this kid. So now he's not working for like a month cuz of the wrist and having tons of time to get his game back. Which wasn't effected by this injury.
Were resolving to just showing you what our respective games look like rather than telling you. So you'll have to come shred with us or we'll shred with you soon, but let me tell you our games have changed a lot!!!
I don't think enough could be said on this thread for how important stretching and ICING are. I wouldn't be half as far without applying those after every session as I've worked my way back.
After my injury I really didn't know if i'de ever be able to footbag again. I had to really come to terms with never being able to play again, which was really sad but has given me a completely new perspective on the game.
At this time my family kept telling me how thankful they were that I was quiting because footbag seemed to hurt me so. Although I only hurt myself doing excessive lifting at work. So It doesn't really make sense to me either, why people think this is such a dangerous sport.
Its funny in other sports you get gored and just heal up and come back in footbag it seams to be wear and tear with chronic type injuries. I mean how many people sprained there ankles multiple times thoughout this thread?
Which brings me to the question is there some advice that can be learned from all these ankle sprains?????
We'll thats all, sorry, it was kind of all just one stream of thought.
thanks for keeping us in mind you all rock

I'm so glad to hear you two are back in action. I can't stand when shredders are out of the game.
I've been out for the last week and a half due to a deep cut on the inside of my foot, and I'll probably be out for at least another week. It's the pits, and when you're not injured you take footbag for granted. I can't imagine not being able to play for months at a time. I'd probably cry myself to sleep every night.
Sometimes breaks can do wonders for your game though, gives you time to reflect on it and you come back with a fresh start on all the stuff that was giving you problems.
I can't wait to play again.
Speedy recoveries to all!

I'm injured
Some kind of foot injury - my brothers girlfriend originally says she thought it was tendon injury but now thinks it could be muscular. Happened yesterday when I was working on my new shred 30. Mainly it just hurts to put my foot on the ground but also to crank it into a clipper position or to pull the toes up for a toe stall. I've iced it lots but that didn't really help and now I have it strapped. I could still play on it if I really wanted but that would be a pretty fucking ridiculous thing to do. Will go and see a doctor tomorrow or on monday. I'm pretty sure it's mainly from playing in shoes with the whole toe worn out. Emma thinks it'll be better by next week if I look after it. Considering I walk everywhere I hope this is the case.
Very annoying time for it to happen - my game was feeling very strong with the shred 30 practice and I'm trying to encourage people to play in Hobart.
Oh well.

I did something to that nature to my right foot earlier in the year. I don't remember what I did to do it, but it hurt on the right side of my right foot, just below the ankle and hurt like hell to walk. Hope it gets better.

I've been injured for almost a month now, I guess since the 27 of Oct. 05. Something wrong with my knee. Both of my knees are actually messed up from over use. They are both messed up because every time I learn somthing on my right side I do it on my left too. I'm pretty sure it was from schoolin fairy and nuclear sets.
I'm more depressed than I've been in the last four years. I guess it makes me feel a little better to know that I am not alone.

I'm out for a bit. My back had sporadic back spasms all day today, so I opted against going to MFA. I'm not sure how long I'll be out for. If the pain persists for more than four days I think I'll get it checked.

I just screwed up my knee sledding last night. There were two of us on a sled and we were going down a pretty steep hill. I tried to slow us down to a stop because there's a lake at the bottom of the hill and it's not a good idea to fall into it.
Our (my friend and I) hands alone wouldn't stop the sled, so I stuck my right leg out to slow down the sled. Well, when I stuck my leg out, it caused a lot of snow to fly up into my friends face, and he stopped trying to slow down the sled in order to clear his face of snow. Well, my leg couldn't take all the weight and bent sideways at the knee. Hopefully, I'll get better soon; I've been icing it all day.

from my blog:
fucked up my ankle playing footbag yesterday. was going for a midstring drifter. mid move I suddenly couldn't decide between drifter and pdx drifter. my support leg ankle bent for a clipper but my other leg went for the drifter and I landed smack dab on my ankle with all my weight. Right before css too
i've been icing like mad!!!!

sooo for some reason I decided to get blackout drunk last night...Luckily I did no online posting or phone calls(that I know of yet), however I did severly split open my left "thumb" toe. Probably won't be able to put on lavers for a few days.
lesson: when getting furshnickered, wear close toed shoes.
EDIT: only lost two days of shred

For those who saw that sidewalk crack take me for a ride at Jersey Spike and Shred (I tried to spin out of a PS whirl and was just stuck)........stress fracture on whatever bone is on the outside of my foot.
Don't worry. I'll be in full effect at the Steel City Shred Off. So everyone come out to Pittsburgh and kick.
