PS2 emulator?

Post by Muffinman »

Does anyone know of a PS2 emulator that works? All of my favourite games are on PS2 that I never got to play because I bought an Xbox (So thankful they redid MGS2 for Xbox...) :( I'm especially sad about missing MGS3 and Shadow of the Colossus.

I think it was Cameron who posted about the PS3 being really dumbed down?? I was considering getting a PS3 if it could play all the old PSX + PS2 games, but if what he said is true nobody in their right mind is going to buy a PS3... Anyway -- ignore this last paragraph I'd really info on a working PS2 emulator!!

I was wondering this too Eric. it took people awhile to get a PS1 emulator working correctly without any glitches. although i haven't really searched for one. Your computer would have to be remotley fast to run it though id assume.

that link should have every emulator you could want :) They don't have much for ROMs, but you can getthose other places. just do a search in google, or if you have a DL program like Direct Connect you can get them there.

When you search for an playstation ROMs, search for Playstation CD rom files. if you just search for playstation ROMs, you won't get good results.

You dont need a fast computer, just a relatively up to date graphics card. PS2's only have a 333 MHZ processor!

I quickly became much too lazy to go through all of this. It seem like a big hassle, just to play a game "so slow that it's unplayable".

EDIT: You have to keep in mind, Henry, that running an emulator on your computer is much like running another computer on your computer. So even though the PS2s specks aren't anything to pray to, it'll still cause a lot of slowdown. I mean, if you turn up the resolution on your SNES emulator enough it'll slow down.
