[No video] Looking for DV-cam advice.

Post by BalinorNZ »

Hey modified,

I'm looking for a dv cam to start filming footbag and home videos in any lighting condition (including low light), I would really like to find one that is under $600USD.
I will be using miniDV tapes, not DVDs.

Any recomendations?

Panasonic PV-GS150 looks sweet. Havn't personally used it though.

I think you can safely assume that I have already done that... not a very helpful reply Gareth.

Thanks for the link Jon! Really good site :D.

The reason I posted this here btw, is because I assumed there are some experianced camcorder users on this forum.

if you are lucky you can get a good deal on a used sony 3chip (the semi professional one) - that is basically the best thing you can get... especially if you are worried about light...

good luck!

Sony makes great prosumer cameras but I think by far they are highly overated! esp at the price point you are talking about.

Also the number of the chips is not everything when it comes to colour and low light quality. The size of the ccd(s) is equally important as a good camera with one very large ccd could perform better in low light and produce better colours then a camera with three small ccds.
