I like bags about 40 grams if they are golf ball sized, if they are bigger then about 45.
As a stitcher the ideal bag weight is something i've been trying to figure out. I think the problem with heavy bags is that they fall faster(despite what they tell you in school physics). This means that you can feel the bag better when it hits your foot; which is great for fast toe shuffle, but the extra speed is bad for big moves with high sets.

Nope. What they tell you in "high school physics", and all physics is true. On the earth, all objects falling will accelerate downwards at the same rate(9.81 m/s^2). A heavier bag will exert more energy on your foot than a lighter bag when it hits. This is why you can feel more of an impact on your foot with the heavier bag. It doesn't have to do with velocity.
Drop one of your heavy footbags, and one of your light footbags from the same height, indoors (to negate effects of wind). If you released them at the same time, they will hit the ground at the same time.
I think the difference in "speed" you feel is either mental, or a result of other factors.

I like bags at least 50 grams, and Docbags... something about my Docbag, although it's wieght is completely different from what I would noramlly like, I LOVE my docbag. Definately different from any other bag I've ever used.

I did something similar to this just a moment ago and you are right. The effect of air resistance seems to be pretty much nothing.
