Why am I not allowed to talk about making money?

Post by darbsllim »

There is some serious discussion going on here, that has NOTHING to do with footbag.

People are talking about ruining their minds and their bodies with drugs, yet I'm not allowed to talk about bettering your financial position?

What gives?

Nobody is trying to sell drugs though... of course it'd be more appropriate to talk about drugs on overgrow or some place like that. I don't hate money, I only hate people who have money

Are we talking greater in terms of greater evil or just plain greater?

I don't think the mod staff has much idea what you're talking about - can you be a little more specific as to what it was you're talking about?

Posts deemed as spam are often deleted - especially if there seems to be no connection between the person posting and footbag. So if you're very first post on modified was something like:

"Organic fertiliser for a fraction of the cost - millions of customers say it works like a miracle - www.organicfertiliser.com/ref/943994" then we'd delete that post because it would appear to be spam and we wouldn't think you're actually part of the community - just trying to exploit our forum. Modified isn't a really a place for making profit on non footbag related enterprises. I'd suggest becoming a strong member of the community before making much attempt. This is a forum for footbag and for making friends and building the community. It's a completely non profit website run with the amazing charity and good will of www.modevia.com and I'm sure that if people on the forum started using it to make profit then modevia would start asking us for money.

You can plainly see I've been a member here for over 2 years. I never posted about cheap fertilizer...

Just because I don't have an extremely high post count doesn't mean anything.

I know a lot of people on modified in real life, and I'm a footbagger myself. I sold footbags in my hometown for about 2 years and got about 100 kids involved in the sport, and I ran the largest footbag club in Atlantic Canada for about a year.

Whatever, people are retarded. I'm trying to just put some information out there that can make a lot of poor people a little better off. I'm not rich, I'm in debt about 20K from school, credit cards and a car loan if you must know...so this isn't for rich people, it's for people just like me.

You guys are just being jerks. I'm not trying scam someone or run a scheme or some shit. I'm just giving people information that I'm using to make a freaking MINT.

And this has nothing to do with modified making money, separate yourself from modified for a second and realize that your financial status has nothing to do with the financial status of modified.

I don't know, whatever I've got 74 people started on this since I started in October, I've personally made over $6000 for just 6 minutes of "work" a day. They have all been making a ton of money too.

So just because modified is a non-profit forum, means that the users can't profit either? That's bs if you ask me.

And btw I'm not spamming this in the regular forums, this is the "GENERAL OFF TOPIC DISCUSSION FORUM" where people can talk about ANYTHING THEY WANT.

I'm just sick of poeple being so skeptical.

why does it offend u so bad that u're not allowed to advertise (what seems to be) a pyramid scheme? obviously, because you have something to personally gain from other's profits. if it's not a scam or a scheme then why are you getting bent out of shape over being censored?

Here's an idea, make a post saying: A GREAT WAY TO MAKE MONEY!!! GRADUATE COLLEGE, GET A JOB, STAKE IT OUT AND SAVE WELL FOR AN EARLY HAPPY RETIREMENT. That's better advice on making money and improving life, if you really cared for the [financial] well-being of the people on modified then something along those lines would have been more realistic and reasonable a post.

I asked this in the other thread, but it was never really answered. Where does this money come from? What makes your 6 minutes a day so valuable?

Also, if your intentions weren't just to make money for yourself Mr. 55299, then why would you sitck your reference id in those URLs and not plainly disclose it? I don't recall you letting people know that you get a kickback for any money they put into this thing. I think that makes it pretty difficult to claim pure intentions.

yes, I make comission off of people signing up, but I don't care about the comission, I give it back. I've given 100% of my comissions back to about 60 people so far.

Are you living in wonderland? I did graduate college, and I did get a job, and I got laid off. Then I decided to find a way to make money on the net, and now I am doing something that the average Joe can do - except the average Joe can't find out about it because people like you think it's a pyramid scheme hahaha.

You don't even know what you're talking about, why are you jumping to conclusions? Pyramid scheme. People sure do love buzz words =P I bet you thought John Kerry was a flip flopper too didn't you.

Well I tried to answer but someone deleted teh thread, hahaa.

You earn 12% a day for 12 days in a row, then it takes up to 7 days to get paid.

So really you're only earning 44% profits over 21 days which is only a 1.8% profit margin when factor in the advertising.

So they only have to make 1.8% profits per day. Even the most novice Forex traders can make 2-5% profits daily.

I don't know exactly what they do to earn the money, and they're not about to disclose how they're so successful. People are ripping them off left and right, they're being scammed, hacked, spammed and attacked. They have had plenty of opportunities to run away but they come back stronger each time.

They've been doing this for 7 months - if they were a scam they would have run out of money 3 months ago. It's not a pyramid scheme either because it doesn't rely on referring people. You get paid whether you refer people or not.

Like I said wolfpac, they have a comission system setup - but I give people my comission back. I suport my downline and do egold exchanges, plus I give like my whole day to my downline to answer questions etc...gotta do something in the winter when I can't shred =P

There are over 170,000 members from all over the world doing this - and thats that - I've been paid 8 times, it's no scam or pyramid scheme.

Just for the record, I am the mod who has deleted all of these threads. I never said it was a pyramid scheme. I said it was a Ponzi scam. It is.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponzi

I am not saying that you aren't making money. You most likely are. But making money off of something where you don't know where the income is being generated... that's being willfully blind. I'll tell you where the money comes from. It comes from the losses of people who join in on this thing too late. Ponzi schemes are great...provided you get in early, and get out before it collapses. Props to you for getting $6,000. But if you think this will go on forever, you are sorely mistaken. Your logic that they would have folded 3 months ago... where are you getting that number from? The scam ends once the first payout is bigger than the money they pull in. When that happens, they don't make the payment, and disappear. Up until that point, yes, they will make the payouts. But there is no real income being generated. The money that is getting pooled around is money that eventually comes out of the pockets of people at the bottom of the pyramid.

As a moderator of these forums, I thought it was cut and obvious that we don't allow Ponzi schemes, and so I deleted the thread, and PMed you. If you don't understand where your money is coming from yourself, it's even MORE irresponsible of you to hawk the scam to others. If you understand how a ponzi scheme works, fine. But posting it on a forum which is mostly made up of teenagers who don't know better is extremely irresponsible. I will continue to delete any ponzi schemes that are posted.
Sincerely,
Ken Somolinos

That makes it sound pretty enticing. They must really know their stuff to pay out 144% of what you put in in a matter of three weeks with only your initial investment and 6 minutes of your daily web browsing time. I have this sudden overwhelming desire to spend my day supporting my downline. Thank you Brad.

(Oh, and I thought that you thought that I thought that John Kerry was a "flip-flopper".)

Look man if you have nothing intelligent to say, then go post in the drug threads. Like, really man I explained a lot more than that in my last post and that's the only line you read? I don't care to play your flame game. All I have to say is:

Go back and read the entire thing. They pay out 44% profit which is only 1.8% profit per day after you factor in the income they get from advertising.

There are new autosurfs popping up every day, they are blatantly ripping off *insert theoretical program* They are stealing the words and images right off their homepage. People are selling their script. These ones are pozis and they close after a month because they're not actually earning any money. In a market like that, would you tell everyone exactly how you're making your money? No you wouldn't because then everyone would be doing it too.[/img]

44% profit.

You do no work.

Mysterious income which isn't generated by any real work.

This is clearly a Ponzi scheme. Please re-read the wikipedia page, which explains it pretty clearly.

Like I said before: I believe that you are making money. The fact that you don't care where this income is generated, and that you are posting it on a site which is mostly read by teenagers strikes me as very irresponsible. That is why I have been deleting these posts.

I've wasted a good chunk of my time to read up on your particular "exciting investment opportunity" and, just as I thought, it is a Ponzi scheme. You haven't convinced me otherwise.

I'm happy you are enthusiastic about footbag and want to see it grow. Modified forums is a place where fellow footbag enthusiasts can come to share their love of the game. You are welcome to post as much you want about footbag on these forums. You can also post off topic. I have explained why you cannot post about Ponzi schemes here. Is that so horrible? If you are a member of these forums because you love footbag, then it shouldn't matter to you that you can't post a Ponzi scheme on here. Let's move on.

I consider this matter closed now.

Oh really? Please tell me how you know that *insert theoretical program* is a ponzi scheme.
C-Fan wrote: I am not saying that you aren't making money. You most likely are. But making money off of something where you don't know where the income is being generated... that's being willfully blind.
The money comes from numerous income streams. Partially from the pool of member upgrades. Partially from paid advertising. Partially from off site investing like Forex Trading, and partially from Completion Bonds for feature films. There are more ways that they are making money, but like I told wolfpac, they aren't going to GIVE eveyone their business model so they can start their own program.

Is that so hard to believe? When a company is the most successful in it's field, they're not going to just give everyone else the secret to their success.
C-Fan wrote: I'll tell you where the money comes from. It comes from the losses of people who join in on this thing too late. Ponzi schemes are great...provided you get in early, and get out before it collapses.
Once again, please tell me how you know this. I'd like to know next week's lottery numbers too if you don't mind.
C-Fan wrote: Props to you for getting $6,000. But if you think this will go on forever, you are sorely mistaken.
I never said it would go on forever, but I KNOW they are going to be around for about another 3 months for sure. Take a look at www.studiotraffic.com - they've been around for over 2 years.

It's ok to be skeptical. 2 years ago people like you were screaming 'this is a ponzi scheme' and there are people have made over $100K with Studio Traffic in the time they've been around - and they're still going strong.

C-Fan wrote: Your logic that they would have folded 3 months ago... where are you getting that number from? The scam ends once the first payout is bigger than the money they pull in. When that happens, they don't make the payment, and disappear.
Thats's exactly where my logic comes from. If this was a scam. If they weren't doing any legitimate business, they would have ran out of money long ago.

Terms last for 12 days. You can do up to 4 terms in a month if you invest every 7 days. That's 30 cycles since they started. Where's the money coming from if they are solely relying on the fees of new members.

The amount of time a ponzi can last for is directly related to the length of their term.

*insert theoretical program* could only last for a maximum of about 10 cycles before they are paying out more than they are putting in. If 12 Daily Pro was a ponzi, they would be about $20 million in debt right now.

I dont think you actually care, so I'm not going to do the math - if you really care you'll figure it out.

give me a break. You don't give 2 shits about the teenagers who don't know better, if you did, you wouldn't allow people to be posting about all these drug / racism threads I've skimmed.
