Yeah, he's onto something with the NOT CURLING TOES. BUT, I find although curling my toes makes me more tired and sore after long sessions(especially if my shoes were tight) it's BETTER FOR CRANK TO CURL TOES but good practice and alternate muscle building to try not to sometimes.
I use the not curling/curling my toes before a session to determine what tightness in shoe laces is most comfortable that day.
Vasek uses skill to get ankly crank. MkKenzie is the crazy natural ankle crank. I don't have great ankle crank but I HOLD MY SPINE HOW VASEK DOES & DO CLIPPERS BEHIND THE SUPPORT LEG NOT BESIDE IT.
Any techniques used for creating more ankle torque?

Watch where Vasek, Felix, Jorden, and most other excellent players that do a lot of different crossbody concepts keep their clippers for moves like swirl vs. pdx drifter and the like.
In my opinion Jorden doesn't have nearly as flat of a clipper as Vasek or Felix, and I think he shreds just as well. I think Jorden is a perfect example that clippers don't have to be perfectly flat.

Reebok G-Unit G6 shoes have a very forgiving instep which makes clipper based moves much easier and more consistent. You don't need as much ankle crank using these shoes as you do with lavers. If you have no success getting better ankle crank, then I suggest you get G6s. Actually, i suggest everybody get G6 cause they are straight up good shoes. But yeah, if you can't change your body, you may want to look into changing your footwear.
Sorry I guess I should have logically seperated my ideas more heheNot-so-ripped Warrior wrote:Nagasake wrote:The above is false actually. Jorden does have perfectly adequate clippers but, yeah, you're right -- not nearly as flat as some peoples'. You definitely don't need super flat clippers to be good at varying clippers positions but I would say it probably makes it somewhat easier if you've got a consistently flat surface to delay on regardless of where you have your foot positioned.
