downloading music
i have recently noticed all the different filesharing programs that are out there, and i was wondering what everyone uses.
Ive been using Ares for a while now, and i tried limewire last week and didnt really like it. The search results were much better and much faster downloads on limewire, but there was no recent downloads folder, you couldnt search your library, and the program made my computer alot slower.
What does everyone else use? do you feel that you have to pay for music because it is morally right or you just dont care nd will download as much as you can for free?Im just wondering, cuz i dont really like ares and im wondering that if i start paying for my music i might get better results.

Torrents all the way baby
*ahem* but seriously... I love music, freaking love it. And part of what I love is getting that new cd, that awesomeness in a plastic case. Paying for music enhances the experience for me. I keep my cd collection under control, if something isn't top notch I get rid of it. I even have my cd's alphabetically ordered and all that jazz. I believe a lot of the value I place on them is due to the fact that they cost me something, and I'd prefer it that way than loads of music I don't care about for free.
Lately I've used torrents to download a couple of albums (that's the other thing, I like getting the *whole* album, not just a couple of songs) because I haven't had a job lately, and it beefs me that no pay = no new music
But even then I only download that which I really want, and once I'm back on my feet financially I will begin to replace those burnt cd's with real ones.
music forever <3
edit: Oh yeah, limewire lags my computer up terribly also

JetAudio FTW!!!
Downloading music is SO annoying... Expecially if you use Kazaa and it turns out to be kiddy porn with a few trojans attached. Or if you use eMule, then you know you'll wait a month before it downloads. Etc.
Instead, I listen to internet radio stations. The usual live365s along with a few other select stations of my liking. I certaintly get bored hearing the music i already have repeated over and over...so I turn to online radio stations (and occasionally FM stations too...).
While JetAudio isn't as good a player as I'd want it to be, it has an amazing FREE feature which allows you to record all sounds that go out to your speakers. So if you are listening to a stream...or you can't quite rip that disc because of a few purposely bad sectors thrown in by the recording companies...play the song and record with this.
Too bad it can't do the same with video...I think. I badly want a copy of my Ichi the Killer DVD. ; ;
Audiophiles, bon appetit!

i have money and i dont mind it going to bands that write good music, but i did rip off alot of music in my day.
I like itunes its nice to get everything in the same format the same quality all named and organized nicely, its easy its fairly cheap virus free, i had one bad download and it got fixed immediately for free. you can also sample every song so now albums are even cheaper cause i can just not download the ones that sound really shitty and save a few bucks. and you can read reviews of the albums see what other purchasers of one band has also bought.
If your not poor i recomend this

Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.
