There is a high possibility this will be my last chance to write a long and serious post this year - I'll have some internet access but will be busy doing other things until the 4th of January so I wanted to just take a little time to say a few things.

Firstly I don't believe in Christmas and I'm a strong athiest but to everybody who does celebrate that day - have a great one

- and also a really happy and fun new year!!

Something that comes up every few months is people dissing the modified community saying things like "it doesn't represent the footbag community" or that it's a waste of time etc. For the majority of my footbag career I've played by myself. I live in a very remote part of the world and it costs me a lot of money even to attend tournaments in my own country - never mind in other countries so for me modified is really my strongest connection with other people who do the same thing as me. Who knows if I'd even still play the sport if this forum didn't exist. It really insults me when people dis this forum because they're always people priviliged with living in places where they can go on a road trip to tournaments and do have other people to play with. Unless I organise an event myself I have to fly to any other event (and nobody from outside of my city comes to my own events because they have to fly). If I was rich and had lots of time this wouldn't be a problem but I play footbag only for myself and I'd rather have most of the days free so I can play a lot than work really hard and not have the time and energy to play and then go to lots of tournaments. I've been supporting myself for the last 2 years - it's hard to save up a lot of money while paying food, rent bills etc. Modified is a different community to the "footbag community" - there can be no doubt about that. But modified is really my only strong connection with footbaggers and I think it's an awesome forum because it does connect so many people who share the same passion with each other who would otherwise probably never meet each other. I feel like I've made a lot of really good friends on this forum. So I really wanted to thank everybody who posts here and helps make this the community that it is. There are always ups and downs and lots of drama but it's fun and exciting and it keeps me motivated.

I had an awesome year 2005 - It began with my best new years ever and a great week of getting paid to play footbag, having a lot of fun and learning heaps. Then I got to travel around parts of Australia working with Dylan Fry, there was Aus champs and partying with Dylan in Hobart. Then I hooked up with an awesome promotion for footbag getting paid to travel around Australia and getting paid for it. Got to meet and play with Ken Somolinos - only the 6th bap quality player I've ever played with (Lynton, Dan Ednie, Johnny Murphy, Ales Zelinka and Dylan Fry) so that was a great deal of fun. I've started to build a strong scene in Hobart and have people to play with occasionally and I'm going to be performing and getting played to footbag for a large portion of the summer too. I have a job I really enjoy and a lot of cool friends. So horray for 2005 and hears to 2006 being even better!

I wanted to thank all the Hobart crew - you guys rock! Also all the Aussie crew. I really enjoy playing with all of you and can't wait for nationals - it should be a huge blast and I'm set to party.

Also again - everybody else. This place rocks and I'll see you all in the new year!

I feel very similar... rock on. Man your year rocked, mine was pretty sucky, but next year is hopefully going to be much much cooler

Anyway just a quick post to say I had a great christmas and an amazing time at falls festival. Definitely the best responce I have ever had for footbag. I had so many people coming up to me all during the festival and telling me how good I was etc. It was fucking awesome, lots of free drinks and stuff too. Also the music was really good. I'll post up more details later on. I played really well too. I was always playing on grass so I couldn't go too hard but I was hitting lots of long runs and pretty much everything I wanted to. Also hit two cool new moves:

symp whirling ss non symple legover and stepping (not pogo) ss symp whirl. - Cool footwork on both.

Anyway must head because it's new years eve although raining and almost all my friends are at falls still. Performing tomorrow and the next few days so may not get much time on the internet.

Been playing a little. Earnt $900 playing footbag for 90 minutes

- Apart from that had a disappointing taste compared with last year - didn't get to perform as much as I would have liked and was disappointed with the other performers (three of my demos got cancelled due to bad weather - I still got paid for them but I really wanted to play and there wasn't room for me in the caberet). Have found that double pickup is a cool move I can hit fairly easily have have been hitting it lots. Also really getting into symp mirage/flail>quantum whatever - feels like a cool link. Also have found that my strong side symp double downs are better and don't hurt my leg any more

. Still not hitting them too much. Booked my tickets to aussie nats and that should be heaps of fun

Oh I'm also going to start selling bags overseas again so if people want to buy bags off me they should email me but I'm not going to be selling very many bags and I'll only sell bags if I have one already made.

Just wanted to say that I'm still alive. Been playing a little but not nearly enough. Completely cleaned up in poker last two times I played (ie. won everything). Having been making bags a lot too. Hit superfly>whirr on camera on saturday - thought it was a pretty tight link. Then footed an even cooler link which I will no doubt hit at nationals. Have started negotiating some stuff for a serious corporate sponsored tournament to be held in Hobart in April - should be awesome and we have pro event organisers doing the event too so I don't have lots to do. Maybe will have more time to post on modified after nationals (jan 11 - 18) but I don't know.

Nice to be back in Hobart. Had a good kick on Saturday with Dom, Adam, Ian, James and Brian. James hit 17 atws I think and was hitting flip mirage occasionally as well

. I hit a few nice things but founded the various street performers and repative latino band a little off putting. Did a gig yesterday at a local pub which went really well. did a 3:36 minute routine to music I had never done a routine to before but had planned a little that day and it went really well. I think I had 6 drops and a hand catch. - 3 of the drops were on double atw

, one on ripped warrior, one on bs blur and one on mouth catch

. Lot of fun - fairly difficult routine too - the crowd really loved it. I think I got the biggest crowd of any performance for the night and it could become a regular thing. Also did a little busking today. Fairly busy with a lot of stuff but getting my shit together.

Went busking again today - twice in two days

. Not sure how I went yet but it was fun. Also played a really good game of chess - ended up with an agreement on a draw although possibly I could have still won - it was epic anyway. Have met a bunch of guys who are getting into footbag - still very basic but they're very keen. Later got swamped by a bunch of teenage girls/groupies

- well by swamped I mean 4 but that's enough for me. Possibly they were a little young - about 15... Not much else to report.
