I had a decent session, that lasted around an hour.

I didn't really skool anything, besides a bit of inspinning. I mainly stuck to strings, and cool bsos combos. I got a few of my challenges, I'll try a few more next session. I feel confident in my game for the first time in a long time. Nothing huge was hit this session, but I had a lot of fun and in the end thats all I care about.

I didn't remember to practice my Shred30. :S Meh. There's always tomorrow.

I can walk on my hands now! (errr. kinda.) Tom was trying to teach me yesterday, but I didn't really catch on. Three cheers for random, useless talents! Hip hip hor-ahhhh fuck it. You get the point.

Chicago in 9.

I had two REALLY short sessions tonight. I got some better lighting in my basement so I'm really happy with that. I've been bummed that my iPod stopped working because now I have no shred tunes. I'll have to see about getting it fixed or getting a new one, because I need my music.

I practiced my Shred30 and hit it dropless again on the second try, and again on the 5th.

Chicago in 6. Six?! Holy shit.

Hey buddy, Merry Christmas! I had a lot of fun hanging with you this year, at GLASS, TOFU, and KICKASS! You have no idea how much better you made me feel when i was all wonked out on Seath's bench at TOFU. Your shred just keeps getting more and more insane... I can't wait to play with you again. I hope you have a great time in Chicago. Hope to see you soon,

Matt

NYJ in Chicago - hands down the most inspirational and entertaining footbag event of my entire life. In my mind, I keep reliving what happened, and still don't know how I came to deserve such an experience. To everyone who helped organize this event (no matter how small) goes my sincerest thanks.

I'm not sure what I was expecting before I went, but it surely wasn't anywhere near what actually happened. This event was soo much more than I could have ever expected, and so much more than I can fully appreciate.

It's hard to do this Jam any justice with words. When I can figure out a way to throw my heart into my mouth more efficiently, I'll type up a follow up post.

A star perhaps. The star, I wouldn't think so. It was awesome shredding with you again though, Jorden!

I still haven't came down from the NYJ high. I've been really distracted lately.

I thought that I would have a session today, but that didn't really happen. My knee is still hurting from the third day of Chicago. I'm sure it isn't anything serious but I'm going to stay off of it until it's 100%. There isn't any point in having a session unless I can push myself hard. I'll have to lay off of the nukes (or learn to do them properly).

Memories of NYJ '05 in Chicago:

- John Mahood accidentally pouring his beer all over himself while trying to give a tutorial on gravity and how it works.
- The many, many hours of Crotchfire V2 that was played.
- The first CROOOTTCCHHFIIIIIRRRRRRRRRE (Henry).
- Randomly exploring the hotel, and finding a huge dimly lit, empty ballroom.
- Kicking around a Takraw ball with Mike, Brad, John, Bob, Emily, Henry, and Jorden.
- Getting down Jorden's Takraw. Footbaggers can be so resourceful.
- Eating a crab leg at dinner on Friday night. (I think it was a crab leg)
- Eating a LOT of ginger. (gag)
- Watching the WVians eat wasabi, and then crying.
- Deep dish pizza.
- The extremely large pile of 32's in the CIC suite, that came from very few people.
- Watching the 'Drunk Sam' videos on the first and last night I was there. Although many of the times I didn't know if Sam was drunk or not. Pushups, ahahhaaah.
- The customized wrestlers that Zeke was making.
- The epic Jorden vs Kolo foursquare aftermath.
- Arm wrestling the West Virginian lumberjacks.
- My first circle in Chicago. Jorden, GF, Jeremy Mirken.
- When Greg Nelson called me smoothy at the suite! :D
- Getting a few stitching lessons from Jeremy, and Dat. Thanks guys!
- Dat trying to teach me how to use chopsticks, and me failing.
- Coming through Canada Customs with ~10 lbs of lead shot. Thanks for the hookup Mike!
- Getting repeatedly hip-checked (and later kicked) by Emily.
- Finally meeting Henry. He was a lot smaller than I thought he would have been. A lot cooler too.
- Meeting Jeremy Mirken! I think he was the person that I was the most excited to meet.
- Seeing John, and Brad again after 3 years. I hadn't seen them since Funtastik '03!
- Meeting Dat for the first time. Although it was really weird because I felt like I already knew him from somewhere. Dat is awesome!
- [nudge]

Some other stuff I hit worth mentioning that I just remembered:
- Rubberman II > Rubberman > Blubberman > BAP > run
- Matador > Sumo > Alpine Legbeater [rpt]
- Backside Blizzard > Quantum Drifter
- Void > Void (first try, requested by Brad Nelson before rippin run)

I'll try to write more as I remember. I'm sure that this is a boring read, but its more for me, so that I can read this one day in the future and remember how much fun I had.

I'm going to go stretch.

I wasn't trying to rip on you, it was just an observation! I'm sure by the next time we shred you'll be bigger than me anyway...

And you already paid me back Henry, remember? You put me up on the table first.

What's funny, is that after the Rochester jam, we also went for sushi. Tom ate the wasabi. I couldn't do it. Props.

EDIT: Sorry for the random comment Johnny. Just had to mention it. :P

Once I ate a ketchup-packet-sized packet full of wasabi, all in one gulp, wusses. My stomach didn't like that too much.

At CSS5 I think I did something like mixing up all the various leftover sauces and drinks into a bowl after everybody was done eating (this was like a 14-person table). Then Sunil made me take a bite. Then Sunil made me dip a leftover meat patty (that had already had a bite taken out of it) in it, and take a bite of that. I wonder if Tuan still has the picture....
