Where to get filler.

lol, I've got mah filler already :pretty late response:, I just go to Wal-Mart now - one stop shop hehe - I get bb's and poly pellets from the fabric section...

footfighter uses rocks? what sort do they use? maybe amaretta can handle them or something.. I've never heard this before though.

i killed a FF this summer, and since i anted to stitch, i opened one and i saw that .. VERY TINY rocks in it. a bit bigger than sand. i had holes in my FF as soon as i washed it .... i washed my 2nd too, same thing, but i didnt wash my sonic yet, no hole in it. i washed it with Ivory soap, 99.4 % pur (like the ad says) i thought that it wouldnt break it, but it looks like FF cant handle washing ... i put the rocks in my 3th bag ... i think ill cut it to show you the rocks

Okay. Here's the dilly. Rocks are bad for the bag because A. If they're jagged, they can tear the fabric, and B. Because, being porous, they suck all the moisture out of the bag, leaving it really dry.

Optimal filler:
About 25g BBs, I use size 4, whatever that means-WalMart
10g Lead Shot-WalMart/Gun Store/Reloading Shop
5g Poly Pellets-WalMart/Craft Store

My Ilja has rocks in it, but they aren't those normal flourecent aquarium rocks. i have had the bags for almost 10 months now, and have absolutley no problems with holes in it. Infact, i think it is THE most durable bag i have ever possessed. He uses small round rocks, that are actually the same color a rock should be instead of those crazy aquarium rocks. I think its completley fine to use rocks in bags, you just have to be careful your using the right ones.

Actually, I really think its just jagged plastic pieces that Footfighters have as a filler, along with Lead BBs. I think the 2004+ version bags have this type filler, as I can tell from a long shred session and pampering with it the best I can I noticed the dye on the pieces begin to rub off. The pieces look translucent in a way as well. Not sure about the filler before 2004, but that's all I can comment about it.

I'd really like to have something like this, but in a way it does puncture bags pretty easily. Amaretto suede yes, but I doubt Facile will have much of a problem with it.
