It's New Years Eve. 2006 is coming. -- NEAT!!!! :P

I had a session yesterday. First I was going to film at the sport hall but I felt too lazy to go there so I ended up in shredding our shed.

I hit Whirr bs again, this time a couple of times. Also to a run once both sides. Gave a few tries to Double Blender and almost footed it. I think I need to set it higher.
I also noticed that I need to skool my Symp Whirls more to get those Whirrs better.

Skooled some shuffle most of the session. Man my shuffle totaly sucks salty chocolate balls. I can't even hit any shuffle 5's mid shuffle string.

-------

The year is changing :!: I thought that I'd post a some kind of memorial about the past year. Something that I can remember...

A year ago in December I hit my first 5-5-5 which was Janiwalker > Pdx Torque > Pdx Blender. In the same month I hit Spanishfly b2b for the first time. :)

I hit my first 7 adder in February (I think?) it was Alpine Marius. A couple of months later I hit Montage and Superdeeduperfly the same day :D I remember that the other sides Superdeeduperfly was with first try ever. THAT felt sooooo sick. I just had to hit it again to make sure it was clean. But hey four new unique 7's one day - not bad, huh? :)

I tried to hit Ducking Superfly back-to-back on solo sessions for something like a week. That totaly busted my knees. First my right knee started to hurt and in a month when I just kept playing it hurt even when walking. That's when I understood that I needed a break.

After a month long break in spring my knees didn't harm so much anymore but when doing Clipper ending symp tricks they always reminded not to do them. I dropped out all the Symp Doubles at that point. :(
Normal double dexes kept hurting as well but that didn't prevent me from hitting a new WR for Spanishflies - 5 8)

Then at summer I hit my first Beast: Maelstrom > Mullet > Spinning Blender. Usually I hit all my big new combos both sides the same day but I was so happy that I had just hit a beast I didn't go for the other side anymore after hitting it one side. But then everyone I told it about kept asking why I didn't hit it with other side too so I hit that the next day.

Then there were Worlds 8O An AWESOME experience. I did my best competing, ruined my Shred30 but ended up being 16th in routines. I didn't save my knees when playing in circles and kept hitting Ducking Superflies or Nemesii everytime somebody asked my to, or Superdeeduperfly to end a run with (I still think that was a fluke).
My best footbag memory from Worlds was at the amphitheather when I hit Nemesis on command with like more than 20 players watching. My hands started hurting from all those props... :o

Then to Autumn. My knees were totaly annihilated from busting a week in a row at Worlds so I had to slow down a bit again. I didn't play very much but when I did I played great.
I hit my current fearless record in September (I think it was then): Phoenix > Tomahawk > Spinning Whirl > Tomahawk > Spinning Whirl > Pdx Torque > Pdx Torque > Pdx Blender - 8 contacts.

Then I had my 18th birthday in October :D that kinda harmed my shredding because I spent 8 weekends in a row in clubs. AND that harmed my wallet as well :S

In beginning of December were Finnish nationals. I crashed my Shred30 totaly again. But did quite good in routines. My goal was to get into finals and I ended up being 6th! Losing only to all the BAP players. :D

After the nats my dad finally bought a video capturing card to our comp. That ment that I could edit footage filmed with our analogical camera. You've seen the results already - my blog vids for example.

So now is the year changing. I was going to a party tonigh but it got canceled  So I'll just head to some bar...

-------

Tomorrow I'll write about my goals for the upcoming year! Stay tuned.

But now - Happy New Year to Everybody! :D

Wow, I can't belive my previous entry was last year... Happy new year everyone!

I was celebrating the years changing yesterday in a bar and I got totaly wasted. A very boring evening and I almost got beaten up etc. so I don't want to continue about that.
But man, what a hangover

2006... A whole new year to play footbag. Time to write down something about it. Although I'm not a fortune teller. Let's see....

My final exams in senior secondary school are starting in two months. I have to read A LOT for them. But of course I'm thinking of footbag too. I won't have much school at that time, only like 10 hours per week. That leaves plenty of time for prepearing to the exams and shredding.

I will be going to military service in july. In just 7 months!! 8O I will be serving my country for at least 6 months but I'll stick there propably a whole year.
We shall see if I can play much footbag there. At least I doubt that I will be seen on MSN or Modified as much as nowadays.

My knees are still bad. I'm going to be easy with them. I try not to have sessions for many days in a row so they can recover better.

Tournies...
If Shrecle Session is held again this year in spring, I try to make it there. I just hope that my finals are over by then.
I haven't been in Euros yet, this time I could make it.
I don't think I can go to Worlds this year :( they are just a couple of weeks after I go to army and they'll never let me go so soon away for a week.

Then just some footbag goals...
I try to keep on filming and making videos.
Some plain tricks or combos? Well hitting Whirlygig and Torch'r'Rack would be cool. Also catching a Beast on video would be something. I'd also like to hit a godly link, maybe Montage > Alpine Marius. Also I need to skool Swirls more.

I think that's it. Happy footbag year to everybody once more!

Had my first session of the year. It sucked. - w00t

I hit Whirr many times, this time some of them felt ok. I eager to film them and see how they look.
Tried Double Blender again. ALMOST footed it. That trick certainly needs speed and accuracy.

I decided to try just once and hit 27 Ripwalks first try. That's my pesonal best.

My runs were miserable and I didn't have any energy to do them. In fact I bludged most of the session sitting down and listening to radio...
My whole game felt somehow weird today.

I think I'll have a sesh tomorrow in our shed again just to film those Whirrs. But I need to get to the sport hall someday soon so I can film some better shit.

Until tomorrow then! -Anssi out.

Anssi: happy new year!!

Good write up of your year. Here's a resolution you may want to take up: hit 15 dexless unique guiltless. It should be easier on your poor ol' knees.

Thanks Max, happy new year to you too. I think I've hit 15 unique dexless genuine already, but I can try to make that 20+.

I had a session this morning. -- With the camera 8)
First I was going to the sport hall but I noticed that I can't find my keys from anywhere. Looks like I've lost them on new years eve while being so drunk :(
Well anyway, I took the cam with me to the shed altough there is so little space and that means no longer runs and no ducks (even my head doesn't fit the screen).

I wanted to film my Whirrs but I ended up having a good session so I filmed some other stuff too. Mostly that kinda of tricks that you don't see from me everyday.

So now I present you:

Anz's BlogVid nr.3:
http://v.footbag.org/media/883/Anz%27s_BlogVid_nr3.wmv

I kinda fooled around with the editing. Enjoy
Those Whirrs are retarted...

Oh, I also hit my first 3dexes involving Swirl today: DOD Swirl.
Thanks for encouraging Nic ;)

I really hope I find my keys somehow! Because if they really are lost my mom is gonna spank me and I need them before I can go to the sport hall. Goddamned!

Haha the whirrs look really funky. Like your leg gets really heavy after the first dex.
What concepts are you bad at? It looks like you can hit everything.

The video was skipping for some reason, but after trying different player it worked fine. Nice tricks :D But one thing cought my attention. You're landing on your heels very often. I think this can be the reason of you knee problems (the impact isn't absorbed by landing on your toes but hits your knee). Of course I can be wrong, but maybe changing this could help you get rid of them. I know for myself that I used to land on my heels on one side and that knee hurted sometimes. Anyway keep up the great shred :D

Yeah, i wish I could have been there :( but my cousins wedding were yesterday.
Ners wrote:You're landing on your heels very often.
My own theory is that my knee problems are due to those retarted support feet positions.

I had my worst weddings ever yesterday. Luckily they weren't mine.
Like 90% of my father's sides relatives are jehova witnesses, so is my cousin whos wedding this was. Her parents arranged everything. That ment no alcohol for the whole evening except one toast 8O That made the whole evening really boring.
There were two positive things:
-My cousin had invited her college friends to the wedding, some really good looking chicks. Too bad they all were like 4 years older than me and too bad I was sober...
-I had a footbag show (2 minutes routine) there. Too bad that it wasn't filmed.
I had like 4 drops, there was slippery but I played quite well so that the audience liked it. I'm quite happy with that.
Here are some pics of it:

Image
In the middle of spinning? Cool. And there's the just married couple in the behind.

Image
Good ol' Clippa.

Image
Torque maybe. Or just outside kick :D And there's cousin in the back

Image
I like this picture the most. Whirl.

That's it. Man I hate alcohol-free weddings.

Good thing I'm not alone. Thank you, Anssi.
