Spray Paint? Sharpie?

I've got about month old green lavers. I love how they look, but I've recently been thinking about spraypainting or sharpie-ing most of it green. I am however concerned that the spraypaint will either not stick and screw up the lavers, stick, but rub off quickly, or stick, but the make the lavers even stiffer than the are now. In regards to the sharpie, I can't imagine it staying on the shoe long, (however I've seen some pictures of some sharpied lavers), and I was wondering if there was some substance you could coat over the sharpie to make it stay longer, thanks for you help in advance, and when I'm done, (if I end up doing it) I'll post pics.

Coloring your lavers another color can be tricky business...

what I did was I dyed mine using Rit Dye. I Applied it with a paint brush and rag (dipped in the dye). I then used a hair dryer and heated the shoes up. Even after that, I applied this fixativ sealant on it, to keep the color. The color WILL fade, no matter what, but the sealant helps! IT'll make your shoes stiff for a bit, but once you walk around in them, they'll be fine.

I used a permanent marker... threw em in the washer, and repeated until they stayed as dark as I wanted them

Other than fading the marker that was just drawn, does throwing them in the washer affect the lavers in any other way? Also, does the marker rub off?

take a green sharpie and color the lines above the sole green like going around the bottom of the shoe it looks sick i just did it

Anyone ever consider taking some heavy grit sanding paper to some of the material on the shoe so that the dye can get in there nice and deep? I don't have a pair so i cant try at the moment.

Sharpies work wonderfully. after awhile it fades, but you can jsut redue them when it does. just be careful about getting them muddy.

Dude... I sharpied mine. They haven't faded yet, however, I did spray them with a coat of Krylon crystal clear that artists use to protect their finished charcoals and graphite and marker drawings from fading and rubbing off. Cheap stuff, about $4 a bottle. Get it at most art suppliers.

This is a thin, non-stiff protective coating. You won't be able to tell you sprayed it.

Sharpied and spraypainted lavers look hawt.
