Matt, turn the volumn up, those dudes are at least positive, people are commenting on the earlier haters that you can hear in the background before those kung fu style guys come by.

if dave sucked at footbag, and some people called him names or something, I might feel bad for him.
however.
dave is one of the best footbag players around right now, and frankly, people being real idiots like that is just an opportunity for dave to bust so huge that they can't help but shut up or walk away with their tails between their legs. Nothing shuts jerks up like a phat, phat string. and almost no one busts phat strings like dave.
from JeremyAlso why does it seem those impressed by footbag are also weird, "Like yoooo dude a sport? what?" "kung fu dancing style" ugh they seem just as dumb. Why can't intelligent people ever comment ?
I'll listen for that other stuff when I watch it again this afternoon. Those skater guys came across as such dicks - I don't know if I'd talk to people that rude.

Dave quit; didn't you hear? He was just tired of being associated with the pretense that is everything anyone says on modified. He's got his real life to live, dreams to fulfill... My sources say that he's looking into school as a professional aesthetician.

Dear Blog,
I haven't played footbag in about a week. It's odd you know, not playing. I went to Florida with my school and I didn't really have time. I guess it was kind of a bummer, but I think it will just make me stronger.
Going to Florida really made me feel like I was outside the footbag world. Two giant tournaments went down, and I missed the oppurtunity to help out Duncan with some stuff. I just kept wishing I was in those sweet circles, at those cool parties, doing what I love. It's amazing how much you realize you like something when you can't do it.
I think if anything fits how I am its footbag. I couldn't see myself doing anything else really. I kind of wonder what my life would be without it. It's silly that a little game controls my life, but that's really what it is. I put footbag above almost everything in my life.
Despite the lack of hack, I had an ok "vacation". I went to disneyworld, tampa, the outback bowl. It was a pretty good time. I had fun with people. On New Year's I went to Busch Gardens and rode roller coasters.
The whole new year's thing, and just being around my peers for a straight week was good and bad. It made me realize my childhood is almost over. It made me want better, closer friends. It's like an empty jar type scenario, and footbag only fills a bit of it.
I look back at 2005 and I don't think I stand much farther ahead then I did then. Can I hit a shitload of new tricks? Yea sure. But do I feel any more accomplsihed as a person? I still think I'm the same kid I was back then. If anything, I've lost a lot more then I've gained, and I dont think anyone can quite understand that.
I feel like I'm missing out on a lot latley. Just lots of things I'd like to do. I like tournements the most, and it bugs me that i havent gone to one in 4 months, and won't for a few more. It makes me feel like I'm watching footbag through a window or something. I feel quite forgotten, but that is probably all my own doing. At first I wanted to be an enigma, surprise people, but I'm not sure if the tradeoff is quite there.
Perhaps the underlying tone of this is one of dissapointment, but I really do have things to be thankful for. The friends I have are great, even though they all live thousands of miles away. I'm still improving at footbag. I'm going to a good school. I guess it all evens out in the big balance.
Here's to a good year.

Nice post david. I think you will find that next year (your first year in university) may very well might be the most exciting and fun year of your life. Good luck with both footbag and everything else.

Dear David,
I met you almost exactly a year ago. I can tell you for sure that you've changed in good ways. Reflection can be great, but don't reflect too much. If you feel isolated and forgotten by us here on Modified, come back and be an active part of the community. You do good things here.
In short: Stop isolating yourself; you'll be happier. Be happy. Happy New Year. Happy to be your friend, your friend, Emily.
Edit: CSS isn't far at all. See you soon.

Hey,
First off thanks for all the nice comments.
Second of all, here's what I've been up to the past few days. After Florida my ear kinda hurt, but I took the trip up to New York to play footbag with Alex and Josh anyway. I played pretty well, but it wasn't that great for my ear. Today in school it hurt a lot and I came home and just tried to shred but it's a weird clogging feeling, so it kinda put a damper on my game. Plus I was snagging pixies cuz I played in g-units all weekend. I mainly did a few drills to get that back up to par. Best highlight was:
pixie legover x 8 > magellen > plo (repeat) > 2 pixie legovers > smear>pixie legover (repeat) > 2 pixie legover > smear>pixie ss mirage (repeat) > magellen>pixie ss illuision>magellen
so 25 straight pixie contacts, flipping sides. I hate playing in shoes with stupid walls (the units don't obstruct bad pixies) and then going back to real ones. Whatever, at least I'm back to normal on those.
Should be heading to the doctor within the next few days. I probably wont bother shredding, it's too weird when half your head is clogged.
I wish they'd finalize CSS.
Peace.
