I don't play with insoles.. i needed to cut a deeper than normal brocka mod because my ankles are lower in my shoes. I actually get less shin splints (almost non existant, finally), my balance is better, and it's given me a flatter clipper surface. Takes a bit of weight off your foot too
I used to use orthodics, they helped out when wearing boots, but after a while I realized they were the cause of some minor leg pain when I used them to kick.
EDIT: I keep posting on my brother's name.. this's Jake.
Special insoles all the way. I use metatarsal insoles for the balls of my feet, and then I put another sport insole on top of it to keep it in place. Footbag shoes are relatively cheap (I just got 2 pairs off eBay for $80 total), so its worth spending a bit extra to make sure you don't mess up your legs.
No insole?! That would kill my feet. Heck, when my shoes got old and the insoles and stuff wore down I hurt my feet badly enough that I had to quit for a little while.
I bought Dr Scholls insoles trying to prevent shin splints. But they arent supporting the front of my feet, just my heals. Any Dr Scholls insoles for the toes too?
I just put spencos in, and although I don't like exactly the way they feel (squishy and heavy, kinda like I just came in from the rain), I'm going to force myself to get used to them. I need more shock absorbtion. If I hate them after a week, I'll go back to stock I guess.

I do play with thrift store insoles but I play best with none and in bare feet in like 95 degrees Ferenheit weather outdoors on a golf course green.
This year I've stopped using insoles. I have shin splints already.
I think I got shin splints from running a 6 minute mile on the treadmill last week though. Footbag doesn't give me shin splints as much as running downhill does.
Lavers with the "stocks" pulled out, and replaced by those green insoles(forget name). The cheap white insoles with air holes will work for a while if cut to correct size.
Now I have some G6's and wonder, has anyone tried to put insoles in those? Will they even fit? Would you remove the stock insoles?
I certainly wouldn't remove the stock ones, but has anyone else tried it?
Oh yeah, and depending on shoe and sock size, try putting the after-market insoles ON TOP of the stock ones, for extra cushion. Maybe you can get away with using shoes that are a few sizes to large.
note: I will try putting extra insoles in my "large" pair of G6's,
I took out the stock insoles in G6s, and put in my other special insoles instead. No problem at all. I can show you next time Unity meets for a kick. But yeah, using insoles in G6 is no different than lavers.
I use Spencos cross trainer insoles. They're rad. Chris Balch has been persuading me to cut the inner lining of the insoles so that I can get a flatter clipper groove, so I think I'll be working hours on end doing that mod.

Yeah I couldn't get my laver insoles out, and I was too lazy to reef on em, so I put some heel insoles in on top of it. I can't say it's UNcomfortable. I dunno if it makes a real difference, so I just leave em in anyway.

Spencos cross trainers fit surprisingly well into Lavers than G-units. Slender sole I'm willing to think.

I used to play with insoles but for the last six months or so I've played without them. I haven't noticed much difference. Lavers maybe feel a bit lighter without insoles but nothing else.
I use "special" insoles, Adidas soft step or something like that. I went to a local sport store but there weren't not many to choose from. So I got these, and although they are a bit wrecked because of shredding I find them better than the stock insoles.
I haven't tried playing without insoles with Lavers, but when I was using NBs I had to take them off to fit my shoes in. I can't really recommend that, it wasn't comfortable at all.
