The event has gone off! Everyone is amazing to hang out with, and to see play.
Stay tuned for some more detailed reviews.

Wow! What a week! Fantastic, had an amazing time, and special thanks to the NZ guys for making the trip over, it was great shredding with you all!

Yeah totally. I posted the results in my blog and will give a better write up some time. I was really stoked on how things went - especially the judging - which I put a fair bit of effort into and I think it really paid off. I hope I can inspire other tournament organisers to do some pre planning for judging because it makes a really big difference. I was really impressed with a lot of people - Jamie had a really good routine and I'm really glad we made the effort to check out players and pushed him up to open. Phil Morrison is amazing - I'd love to see him shredding with Johnny Murphy and see who is better. It's a long time since Murphy has made an appearance anywhere. There were some great entries for the unofficial sick 1 comp:
Phil: Gangsta party, montage, alpine food, leviathen, blurry whirling swirl, stepping whirling swirl, blurtigo, morpheus. I think in the end we went with stepping whirling swirl.
Dan: gauntlet
Myself: blazing barfly, your mom, pixie neutron smasher. I think maybe pixie neutron smasher had some chance of being up there but I discounted myself because I was a judge. All of my moves and Phils were sealed with runs too.
Dylan Fry was presant and playing really well. He hit 214 in shred 30 - which is a very solid score.
I completely dominated everybody in chess. Phil won everything else.

Jeremy, I hope you're a stronger chess player than when we played... Else I weep for Australian footbagging chess players
Sounds like a great event. Phil sounds even better than vids of him indicate.
