Hollah!!!

I was wondering if anyone out there would be interested in shredding at the Canadian Breakdancing championships in Toronto?? The event is being run by the charity Leave Out Violence(LOV) and all proceeds go to youth outreach in troubled Canadian communities. It is also a graffiti expo and auction, all for chairity as well. It is also a HUGE party!!!!! SO COME SHRED!!!!!!!

The president of the York University chapter of LOV saw me shredding and asked me to come preform at the event.....and to bring some other skilled shredders.

They can't fly you out or anything, but its for a good cause and they will at least buy you dinner (and free red bull).

TIME: The event is on the 3rd of Febuary.(evening event)

CRASH SPACE: Either the floor of my residence, or rent the room in the basement of my residence for the amazing price of $15 a night!!!

SHREDDERS NEEDED(other than myself):2!!! Unless someone better than I am wants to take my place...which I am perfectly fine with. Jorden? Johnny? Anyone else in southern ontario northern NY think they are up to it?

This is a 19+ event and ONLY YORK STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO ATTEND. THIS MEANS IF YOU ARE NOT ONE OF THE SHREDDERS PERFORMING YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED INSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That said...there is no reason for others to not come for the pre-shred!

This sounds rad, man, and I'll be living in fredonia when it goes down (as I'm moving there in a few days), which is only a 2 hour drive or so from TO! maybe less! So, on a related note, I'll be up there to jam and party a little more frequently

give many many details on this breakdancing thing, it sounds great.

I can make it if there is going to be a regular shred too. Is anyone from the KW area going ? Is filming there ok? I can bring my gear too (dig cameras, lens, tripods, extra mini dv tapes, HD coming soon !!)

Great cause for this one. To bad its not open to the public at all. I know alot of people who would have liked to go watch to help support the cause. Since I cant go I will be checking local news in the hopes of seeing some amazing footbag TV !! If I got to see footbag on CITY TV news that would be groundbreaking.

dude, only you and 2 others can come in to represent? is the York Only rule applying to breakers too? what kind of national championships is that?! The national championships of *1 school*? weeeeeird...

You should see if you can arrange for footbaggers to be on some kind of VIP list or something, LOV / York might be open to some ideas.

If you just can't get footbaggers inside, I would suggest that you might find us a place to play on the 4th. That way, we could hang at your house / dorm on Friday night, try and figure something out with the breakdancing, and jam on Saturday.

Frankly, this event is a lot less appealing if we can't get in. There's got to be some way around it. If it's a school only event, that means that it's not going to be MASSSSSIVE, so it shouldn't be out of the question for them to try and be flexible. If you want some help composing or editing an email to them to try and get them to let us in, let me know. I can be very convincing, and I'd like to help make this into an awesome event for footbaggers in any way I can. There's some amazing players that could make it to this. It has a lot of potential. We can do better than *3* freestylers

The problem is that over 50 b-boys are being brought in from all over the country. Also over 20 Graf artisit will be in attendance. Add to this the fact that York only allow about 150 non-york students into the venue at any time. We don't have any options here, as York University is one of the most disgusting bueracracies i have ever encountered. The best way to deal with this is bring the most talented shredders who ae willing to participate, and maybe next time they will let more of us attend. We all know that footbag is still a very unrecognized sport, and this is the kind of exposure we need to make it so one day venues like this will be having the Canadian Footbag Championship.

BTW The evnt is on FRIDAY night. Many of the breakers wern't going to be able to make it on Saturday so they bumped it a day forward.

Now for the good new!!!!!

A local shredder is offering couch space for whoever ends up performing! This means that no one is going to end up sleeping on floors!

I need people to confirm. York needs your names and drivers licences numbers in advance. These guys are bitches, so make sure its all spell right or they might not let you in.

I hate York.....this event could have been 100X better, if it wern't for their crap regulations.

If only I had more money and more talent, I'd be there. Sounds like a mad ill time. Make sure to take plenty of footage whether it be lots of video or pics, make'em BOTH ! Goodluck with everything and represent. Sounds like there is gonna be a lotta pro goin on in every other aspect of the venue, so make sure footbag holds it own when we get down. All i gotta say and repeat is 'represent'.

Greenwood, I think it's really cool that you have been spreading the good footbag word, and as a result have been offered this awesome opportunity to spread it around some more... and on top of that you are selflessly offering it up to other footbaggers! Sweet man! I do wish they were more accepting though, and I wish York was more chilling. Meh. We will have fun either way.

hmmm.... I really hope you weren't too serious there. If the CANADIAN FOOTBAG CHAMPIONSHIPS were held in a venue similar to The UNDERGROUND, of all places, it would be a disgrace. Imo. I would hope that Canada could score a much more reputable venue. And I totally see what Matt's saying, the whole thing is seeming pretty sketchy.

Anyway, I'd offer crashing space, but I live pretty far from York and I will probably end up crashing there too. Tell us more about the renting of this basement room.

Well, I guess I won't be playing during the event, since it's students only, and I wouldn't feel like making the hustle down to toronto after work simply to shred before the event and then have to leave. I'd like to play, but for more than a few minutes. I think I said it already, but yeah, if people wanna play on a different day too, I'd be down
