Hey it seems like everyone else is posting about NYJ and all the fun they had and all the people they met. Hmmm, is it too late to do something like that? Iunno. Plus I think that by not staying in the CIC suite I sort of missed out on a lot. For example "crotchfire, you'll get caught up in the heat. crotchfire" Hmmm...what the hell does that mean?!? Like Crossfire, but with your crotch?! I like saying the word "crotch" as much as the next guy, but I don't feel the need to make a game out of it.
Aaaanyways, it was a lot of fun going all 3 days. Johnny did some crazy shit, and it's too bad that few people had cameras with them because I think a lot of footbaggers out there would be blown away by him. I love the way he just tips his knees in to do mirages; like the reverse motion of an atomic set. Plus his alpine nuclear moves...those were, umm, pretty good too...!
The WV crew are all really awesome. Good styles, good shred, very friendly guys. Next time I shred with them I'd like to hang out as well. I probably missed a lot of that by driving back each day but oh well, next time.
CIC are always and will always be the most fun, laid-back, crazy group of footbaggers and footbag enthusiasts (by that I mean sometimes they'll come to jams just to hang out, and barely play at all) on the planet. I'm pretty lucky to live just 40 minutes away from the city, but being down at U of I most of the year makes it difficult to shred with them much. 3 good days at NYJ was still a lot of fun. Oh yeah, and hot damn does the CIC take their 4-square seriously. I never got any points in the games at NYJ! I never even made it to the King square!!
Henry was great to see again. He's a drill beast. Crazy genuine runs and a super fast rate of improvement! Like whoa. Henry gets along with everyone. I wish I could be all out going like that. I hope to make it up to Wisconsin sometime next semester?? If so we should get a mammoth session together.
Shawn you're game is rapidly improving as well. Let me know if you visit U of I soon! We'll shred this time fo sho. And sorry about my Oak Lawn friend not showing up at NYJ. He flaked out big time. I'm gonna smack him around real good when I get back to school. You can be sure of that.
OK that's all I got right now. Had a session with Reid earlier. I doubled my pdx whirl record with 10 or something like that. I was just trying 3 in a row for a while unsuccessfully and then out of nowhere, boom! 10. I think I'm starting to get used to 32 panels again. I've been kickin' exclusively with Mr. Sandbags for a few months now so the adjustment is taking some time. Peace all

I shredded with brian and dan quite a bit. I probably played with brian a good 3 hours, and dan like... 1.5 hours. But they played in other circles too. Brian is really cool! And Dan was scary, but super nice. He just looks mean cause hes so tall.

Just had a session with Reid, Will, and Will's roommate Andres. All around good stuff. Andres is getting pretty good after only one week of playing. Hopefully he'll stay with it.
Anyways after Reid left, Will and I played for maybe like 10 more minutes; but oh, what a glorious 10 minutes it was. We decided to go for some rubberman attempts. WILL HIT IT like first try! So the FTB rubberman race was over. Then he passed it to me and I HIT IT like first try also! It was great. Then Will hit it starting from his other side. I also attempted on my other side but couldn't hit it again.
Anyways rubberman is a little milestone I'd say, and I'm really excited that I finally nailed it...but unfortunately Will won the race

Swim meet today, no footbag. But I ate well, and have energy, swim meet tomorrow, so Footbag after meet and sunday. Still bumbed about both Mirken Bags, one ran over by skateboard, other loose panel, needs repair. Oh, the pain. watched movie troy. Talked to liz on phone. ate artichoke stuffed gnocchi with my parents and friends. Over all life is good.

Lots of toe shuffle drills today packed into a 45 min session. I really want to get comfortable with pixie sets. Goin' back to school tomorrow maybe I'll have a late-night session if I'm not too busy drinking or something...biyas!
Oh yeah and I thought of a wicked move I should be able to hit some time soon. Similar to my sick trick at NYJ but even harder.

This past weekend I attended Madfest the big annual juggling festival in Madison. I did a lot of juggling and unicycling and a little footbag as well. I met one other footbagger who was selling footbags and juggling balls at the event. His name's Jim and his company is Jammin' Juggling from Boulder, CO. He was a really good foot juggler but doesn't shred very often so he was kind of rusty when he kicked with me. He said he's been footbagging since '94 and he had a wide variety of moves. He gave me a free sandbag which is very nice.
So today I had a fantastic solo session with my new footfighter. I crammed in all my different concepts into a 1 hour 20 minute session. It feels really good to have mastery over so many different moves. So I mostly worked consistency and new links. Next session will be longer and more hardcore and I'll post specifics.
