Super glue and footbags

So I had a hole in my sandman today, so I thought I would try to superglue it. Apparently this is a bad idea as it didn't work and tt seemed that the superglue acuatly ate away my footbag! The super glue kinda fizzled and "smoked", which is really weird.

Anyone elses experience?

EDIT: I think the super glue mixed with the sand inside.

Superglue is nasty stuff. It is also known as CA glue (Cyanoacrylate). Maybe it was a chemical reaction. Was it crushed payne?

Its not too bad, and plus I got the bag for free. I'm still mad though considering I only had it for a week.

use the hole and experiment with different fillers if you can...thats what i did with mine when it got a hole in it, but then i sold it in puerto rico while i was drunk.

You can always just stitch the hole back together. Mr. Sandmans are pretty easy to fix, no glue required. It's just crushed panne. Like tryson said, take the opportunity to try different fillers in it then stitch it closed.

Don't they fill the final stitch with glue for that purpose? You can just peel it open and seal it back up

i made a purse out of facile for my mom for christmas which invoved gluing. when i would press the fabric together with the super glue in the middle, it would smoke a little and get really hot. wierd, i think it might be a chemical reaction with the glue and with any synthetic material.

Please, don't make the same mistake I did and use the superglue.

Cutting small pieces from plaster is a 100x better option.

...oh, it was a mr. sandbag? No worries then, like said you've got an excuse to get a 32 now.

Superglue, huh? I use cement glue that has a different chemical compound that doesn't burn through crushed panne. It works pretty decent on holes I might say.

I use typical Fabric band-aids to patch footbags. They tend to be water resistant, so you can wash the bag without worry.

They work great....use scissors to cut they exact size you need. Use the sticky portion, not the sterile pad part.

So far, they seem to last forever. I still have a heavily patched Munger-bag that is almost a decade old. My original Abshire bag has a few patches that will hold , no doubt ,longer than the bag will live.

I have even used them to patch the small holes I cut in the mesh modding my G6's. I will report if they break later.

I use Shoo Goo and it works pretty good. My abshire decided to start to fall apart, once you work it in a little it becomes really flexible.
