Sam, I'm really proud of all the effort, the time and dedication you put into this project. All those times when I wanted to go to sleep and you and the gang were hacking to weird music or swinging the light chain to where I couldn't reach it....or never putting the furniture back!

Nice! I finished making the DVD - now I just have to transcode it while I sleep and wait for Zeke to finish the artwork and then, SHIPPINGGGG!
It has an intro vid then a menu where you can chose the feature or outtakes and scenes so you can skip around. I can use Adobe Encore a bit now. Heh.

Sam, I'm deeply impressed.
I read the whole topic, while I downloaded the video and with every post I got more and more excited.
And now I've seen the whole movie and I know this was definetely not the last time I watched this.
It was such a unique style and you can easily see in every part of the movie that you are full of great and special ideas, which you all put in this video. And the result is a really great thing!
You get my full respect, sharing a project which took you 2 years to finish without any commercial interest for free!
And therefore I hope you manage it to save a copy for me. I'll PM you.

I just wrote a well thought out review, and my computer crashed. Bah. I'm not working hard on this one.
I liked it. I laughed a lot and so did the people I watched it with. Nothing can be as fun as the actual filming weekends were, but seeing this movie is the next best thing. The thing that the online version doesn't have but I'm anxious to see is the outtakes section. I don't even know what is going to be on it, but there is one section I know will be on there... where some stuff happened... that it was the hardest I have laughed for as long as I can remember.
My favorite scene in the movie was definitely the fight scene that was Chad vs. Chris. Kick ass. I like the fact that many of the lines were made up by the actors, and some of them minutes before shooting the scene. It was interesting how the plot was fluid during production- meaning we didn't know exactly what would happen in the progression of the story and our character because it hadn't been figured out/thought up yet.
If I hadn't been involved with FR, I would get it just to be able to see the people who I have seen on Modified or heard of through footbag. Since I know these people in person, I want it because I want to see my friends doing something fun.

This was so awesome, Sam. You should pursue video as a career or something -- you are so creative!!! I feel like I should write a better review, but my absolute favourite scenes are probably these three in order:
1) "I'll boil some water; It'll slow down time!"
2) "I don't want this -- I WANT TWO!!"
3) and the scene you posted where Chad twirly jumps away
(another is "meanwhile 10,000 years ago", when Chad tries to get away from Richie, but, "Time is irrelevant when you can time-travel")

"I am footbag" was really great, and I liked your part, and your(?) rapping when Jeremy is first posessed by Snoop Dogg.

I felt that it really took away from your masterpiece in the last video, because it really broke up the flow of the story. Thanks guys. That is the movie Chan, its no different on DVD. No more or less shred.
I just burned the DVD but I think the audio and video are out of sync. I think it's because I transcoded on an external drive. ARG! I'm gonna have to clear 50 gigs of a drive and then defrag it and then transcode again and then burn. Which means a whole nother day. Well, I hope not, but I'm about to go test the DVD and then I'll know for sure.

edit: YES!!! The asynchronous playback was just in Adobe Encore's preview! I just watched the entire DVD which played without trouble perfectly!!!
Now I'm just waiting on Zeke's Artwork and I'll start shipping DVDs!!!!

He was just trying to help. Through his efforts more people could be able to see your work. When you told me about this on AIM I thought you'd just chill and work it out, but posting it in here was a bit extreme. I don't think Ellis once dissed your work. It's none of my business, but I just wanted to say what I think is right.

First off, I just have to say how much I admire Sam. It's obvious he's put a TON of work into making this video, and it's a labor of love. Personally, I always have a lot of trouble creating anything; drawings, stories, whatever. But Sam has consistently been excellent about creating art and expressing himself. I haven't seen the vid yet, but thank you for making such epic, personal pieces of art. The fact that it has to do with footbag is even better.
Regarding your last post in this thread, I think you are overreacting, but I don't see it as a bad thing really. You are just a super passionate person, and super-passionate people get angry like that sometimes. That said, try to take a step back and look at what Eli was trying to do. All he was doing was trying to make your work more available to the community of people who wants to see it. 1 gigabyte is indeed a lot of space. Personally, I am more likely to download a file if it is smaller, and I bet a lot of other people (not everybody, but some people) feel the same way. Eli wasn't looking to profit off you, or change the content. He just wanted to help others see your work. I don't think that's such a bad thing. Maybe the way he phrased things in his PM gave a bad impression, but objectively, I don't think he meant any harm.
I have a lot of respect for both Sam and Eli, as I see both of them as incredible assets to the footbag community. They both work in the video medium, but approach it completely differently. I enjoy watching both of their videos. I like both styles. From my perspective, there's no need for bad blood, especially in this situation.
I look forward to seeing FR soon. If Eli's reencoding means I (and other people who normally wouldn't be able to see it) can see it, then I am all for it.
