Unnecesary Mods?

Post by Guest_2 »

Have you ever performed a mod you felt was unnecesary? Or even detrimental to your game?

I'll go first :-)

I don't remove canvas off the insides. I've been playing with canvas removed for over one summer, but with my next pair of lavers I figured I could clipper more constantly and it feels easier to stall the bag.

Well, every mod I've done has been for the better in my mind. I do however think I've screwed up every mod in a minor aspect because I don't think any of them have been 'perfect'. It's hard to have perfect cuts , glue'ing technique, or stitching on shoes, ya know ?

I cut the flaps off the toe box out of a pair and didnt like it. I always hit pixies and fairies anyways so I didnt need that type mod anyways.

i wanted to experiment with taking off the toe walls, so I modded an old pair of lavers so as not to mess with my current shoes. I now love toe walls.

I cut away the twill fabric off of my twill Lavers on the insides, outsides, and toe box to expose the canvas underneath for shredding. I think that's the only mod I regret doing, eventhough the shoes play pretty decent. More like a fashion fauz pas if you ask me.

I removed the padding from the tounge of my brooks burn, these running shoes I modded for footbag, and it turned them from my favorite shred shoes to crap

taking ur toe walls off isn't a mistake - there shouldn't be any need for them. To the casual observer toe walls look ridiculous and illegitimize much of the sport.

i agree to a point. if it helps your game, i have no problem with it, but im REALLY glad that i dont need toe walls, because i gurantee i get asked why i "use cheater shoes" about half as much as someone who has walls up.

Yeah, like Vasek--shiiiiit. Oh, and don't forget Honza and Felix--what a bunch of "n00bs." Oh, and their pixie sets must SUCK because of them.

Indeed. I've never done unnecessary mods to my shoes (canvas off from the inside and the toe; other toe-box mods - I've got the toe walls; fake-Brocka (developed by me I guess, so I could call it Jii-mod™ ).

If you can play I think it doesn't matter if you've got the toe-walls or not. I believe that Vasek, Felix, Honza and many other good players who've got the toe-walls could shred pretty much as easily without them too.

"Why are you shredding in cheater shoes?"
Do you not hate being asked this question? THERE IS A SOLUTION!!!!!
Don't cheat!
Climas don't need toe walls....so why do lavers? I used to rep the toe walls, but no passerby ever took me seriously. I didn't take myself seriously!!!!!

Well now nobody takes your pixie sets seriously.

no one is going to be pulling off very good pixie sets if the bag slides up and off their foot anyhow. sloppy toe components with good pixies look as bad or worse than sloppy pixies with clean toe components.

"Take off the training wheels......"

Btw I had strong pixies on both sides LONG before I snipped my toe-walls.

I attached ice cream scoops to my toes, and now I never drop a toe stall!

and clippers? I filled my bag with magnets, and shoe gooed a strip of steel onto the inside and outside of my foot.
