just as those men made gods before us we to are pioneers
just as those men made gods before us we to are pioneers
i was sitting here just thinking
and i realized something, if you skate you skate, if you snowboard you snowboard, the time that they were underground has long since past and they have become as soccer or basketball has
but footbagging
we are the ones doing that and we are the only ones an underground community small in retrospect to the amount of people roming this earth
we are the pioneers
and in 10, 15 years when veryone footbags
we can sit back and say we are the ones who made this happen the ones who cared for a sport everyone else shunned
the ones who made that sport grow
the gods

think about this
me i probably never will become one
why?
because the only men made into gods are the ones who want not to be gods the most
i will have to work harder than most to earn my place

IMO the sad thing is that footbag will not go anywhere because of this sole reason...there is no $$$money to make from it. Every huge sport has large corporations that sponsor it so that they can make money off of it, and that is all they care about. What is there to sponsor in footbag? Nike wont start making footbags because they are too lazy to put in the care necessary to make a great bag. Adidas or other shoe companies are the only sponsorships for it because it requires such little equipment. Until there is a way for people to make money off of footbag it will not be a widely known sport. But that is not necessarily a bad thing, sorry for being a little off topic.
I never said I wanted to be THE PRO (in your words...a god) of the sport. I'd just like to be widely known and looked up to someday. I already know my little cousin looks up to me for a couple little tricks she's seen me hit.posshr wrote:ok pips think about this

I footbag because I like activities that are independent, I like to do things myself such as bag, skateboard and golf. I dont like people telling me what to do, I want to learn by myself, no coaches yelling at me or anything. I do footbag, for myself

Hahaha. That made me chuckle a little. Actually she's growing up too fast all of a sudden. She already reached my height (5'6"ish), and she's only 14. Next time I see her she's gonna be taller than me!
You may see her on here someday. She said she wants to start. I will try to get her started the next time I do see her.
EDIT: That was toward Ken...you were too fast for me, Dan.

Sorry to strike you down, but I don't think Nike has high quality footbags...is what he means.Troyson wrote:IMO the sad thing is that footbag will not go anywhere because of this sole reason...there is no $$$money to make from it.
