To all the Finlanders out there-do you think Conan is swaying the bid?

I watch Conan all the time. He's my favorite late night host. I was just wondering this same thing the past week or so.

Is Conan actually as big in Finland as he says he is?

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

I don't know how much Conan is affecting the outcome, but Tarja Halonen has gone down a lot in the gallups. Since we have a multi-party system, we had 8 candidates in the first round and now we only have two, Halonen and Sauli Niinistö. The second round is on Jan. 29.

In October 2004, Halonen would've had 70% of the votes if those two were in the second round. In June 2005 Halonen would still have had 64% of the votes. After Conan started doing his bit, Halonen's rating has dropped to 53% in a gallup study done yesterday.

I was a little worried before that Conan might sway the election, but I guess Finns can make the decision without an American talk show host.
