Winter Olympics

Post by carl winslow »

Anyone excited about the winter olympics?
Im not really that excited about them but i will watch some of the events.
I just read an article in the new Sports illustrated about how lame of a sport skeleton luge is. I have to agree.Only about 200 people do skelton luge in the world!
Some winter olympic sports are sooo lame.. Like i would feel like i got a cheap gold medal if i was just one of the dudes in the middle of the 4 man bobsled. All they do is go along for the ride and push a little in the begining. Are they really atheltes? We should invent a footbag made out of ice or somthing and we could probably get into the winter olympics.

Why would the footbag have to be made out of ice? I consider Basketball to be more a summer sport and it's in the winter games.

I'm not to excited about the games, but I'll watch a bit of hockey. Go Canada! Meh, whatever.

Basketball is in the summer games.

I kind of like the winter games more, because Finns do better in them than in the summer games.

I'm really excited about the games and I'll probably buy a digital TV box just to get more coverage from the O's.

I'm thinking the trick-oriented free-jumping. Sick event to say the least.

Freestyle jumps? That should be in the gymnastics. :P I don't know any Finns who do that, but at least we have pretty good names in the "normal" freestyle downhill skiing (the bumpy slope with two jumps) like Lahtela, Ronkainen, Luusua and Mustonen.

Plus, we've got good names in the snowboarding too: Antti Autti is already chosen and Risto Mattila, Miikka Hast, Janne Korpi, Toni-Markus Turunen and Markku Koski are the other possible boarders there.

I saw the olympia team of korea on the airport of frankfurt :)

I guess Austria will own alpine skiing, but I don't really care.

I've never heard of curling before these winter olympics, so I've been watching it out of curiosity. I'm still trying to figure out the scoring. It kinda reminds me of that game, Rebound. Haha.

I'm actually participating in the little known, surprise event called the "lazy piece of shit" triathalon. And I think Canada will pwn. Components of the event include:
-Sitting on your ass (extra points for flatulence.)
-going downstairs to get soda (points lost for dropping the soda, or spilling soda when you open it)
-and lastly, online first person shooters (extra points for hackz and cracked games)

I can basically take anybody at any of that stuff.
