Shredmonton: I am now going to school in Lacombe (Just north of Red Deer).
I am hoping to be able to make a number of trips up to shred. Being in school my shedule will be anything but predictable. What would be a good way of staying informed on when and where you may be having sessions? Ill be here for the next 3 and half months. Looking forward to seeing you guys again!

YES!

EDIT:

Welcome aboard Brian! I look forward to shredding with you very soon.

Here's the current shredmonton session info:

Our CONCRETE regular shred schedule looks like this:

Friday Nights -> 7-10:30pm Jamie Platz YMCA (7121 178 Street, not to far from west edmonton mall)

I'm also looking into getting us another regular spot on wednesdays nights (The ymca is looking at expanding their youth programs during the week)

Our "Flexible" Schedule

I'm free for sure on the weekends for shred and i'll have to see about weeknights once I find out my assignment schedule.

Kevin's days off are monday and friday and he's usually up for some shred.

Byrin's schedule is a little bit less predictable, but he's usually there for friday shreds and enjoys sunday shreds too.

Shred Locations: I can usually get us into the YMCA whenever. Sometimes we also play @ West Edmonton Mall during the winter.

We can talk over pm's msn for contact details/more info.

Looking forward to kick with you soon Brian.

I haven't been feeling too swell the last week. I've had no motivation to kick (which turned out to be good for my shin), my shorts that I bought in England got massively stained and I've just been feeling shitty about a lot of things. All in all, aside from a solid workout on Thursday evening, I was a mess. Was supposed to go out for the first time in months to go socialize with some workers Saturday night but they blew me off. I got all prepared then just sat by the phone waiting for a call that never came. I ended up watching movies with my sister the entire evening.

But all that's behind me now. Hopefully this upcoming week will be better. So far so good.

This morning I lifted some weights for an hour - something that I plan on doing atleast twice a week - then went over to my cousin's and watched the Family Guy movie. When I came home I decided to have a sesh. Not very much was noteable, but it just felt like I was able to get back to where I was before. Ended up being around 3.5 hours.

- Mirage x 7 > Legover x 7 > Mirage x 7 > Legover x 7 > Illusion x 7 > Pickup x 7 > Illusion x 7 > Pickup x 7 > 83 contact run (total of 139 contacts, by far my longest string)
- Drifter > Vortex > Pdx Drifter x 2
- Vortex x 3
- Rubberman x 2
- Pdx Drifter > Pdx Torque > Pdx Drifter > Pdx Torque unsealed
- Pdx Blender > Drifter > Pdx Blender > Drifter unsealed
- Pdx DLO > DLO > ss DLO > ss Butterfly bs (will get it next sesh)

My sister came down into the basement and watched me kick for, like, an hour. We did a lot of talking and not so much kicking on my behalf. I did, however, manage some good things in her presence. Afterwards we watched The Empirer's New Groove but I fell asleep at the end  .

- In 5 attempts I hit Atomic Torque (first attempt) , Big Apple (second attempt) and Montage (second attempt) 8O
- string with Zooming Mobius bs, ending with Pdx Blender
- Legover x 5 > drop > Legover x 6 > Mirage x 11 > Legover x 11 > Illusion x 11 > Pickup x 11 > Illusion x 11 > Pickup x 11 > Mirage x 11 > Legover x 5 (BOOYA)
- Vertigo to start a string, failed to bsos it, picked the bag up and then hit it on the side I dropped it on :)

For supper I had some meat in gravy with whole wheat bread, and then topped it off with a glass and a half of a crazy concoction - milk, strawberry jam and a banana (blended together). Now I feel wide awake and full of energy for my evening kick.

I've been doing your tiltless toe endurance stuff...like, just increasing the odd number you're dealing with.

So far I've been working on...ummm...the tricks in order...

legover
mirage
legover
mirage
>
pickup
mirage
pickup
mirage
>
pickup
illusion
pickup
illusion
>
legover
illusion
legover
illusion

...with the same odd number for each one. ie: 3x trick > 3x next trick > 3x next trick > etc.

I've hit it through with 3 each lots of times, as warm up, and I've hit it through with 5 each once or twice. At 80 contacts, I'm usually pretty tired at the end. I guess I'll work my way up to 11x. ;)

176 contacts is alot. :P

I'll have it hit in two weeks Kevin.

Yesterday's sesh was real good. The milk, nana and strawberry jam combo did me good. This evening I did a work out then worked on tiltless and BOPs for only an hour to burn off some calories. Twas not too shabby.

- Illusion x 7 > Legover x 7 > Illusion x 7 > Legover x 7 > Illusion x 7 > Pickup x 7 > Illusion x 7 > Pickup x 7 > Mirage x 7 > Legover x 7 > Mirage x 7 > Legover x 7 > Mirage x 7 > Pickup x 7 > Mirage x 7 > Pickup x 7 (total of 104 contacts)
- 16 unique pixie string
- Fog > Smog > Dimwalk > Fog > Smog > Dimwalk
- Predator > Smog bs
- Fog > Predator
- 15 contacts of Pdx DLO > DLO > ss DLO > ss Butterfly
- Pdx DLO > Butterfly x 6
- Smoke > Ripwalk > Fog > Smoke > Ripwalk > Fog off the foot

I was pretty tired yesterday by the time I started doing DLOs, but then I caught a second wind and all of that pretty much happened. I was st0ked.

Predator > Predator will be mine in a week Szymon ;)

Today was such a twist. It began when I woke up 40 minutes late, then being stuck in traffic for 20 minutes. I managed to punch in with seconds to spare, and luckily for me a friend got everything I needed ready by the time I got there.

Then there was the shred at the YMCA. Totally awesome, except for the fact that Kevin re-sprained his ankle :(.Fortunately it wasn't as bad as last time, but still kept him from kicking - wishing you the best on the recovery, yo.

I had a lot of really good highlights. Near the end, Rory and I were learning quantum sets together. That resulted in a lot of progression for the both of us imo.

At the beginning of the evening, I could inconsistantly quantum on one side and could barely link Toe Blurs. Thirty-ish minutes later...

- Fury (What?! When do I do Furious?!?!?! :D)
- Blubberman on five different occasions
- Blubberman > Rubberman :D:D
- Toe Blur x 6 ish
- Fog > Predator on the other side
- Rubberman with Fogs
- Rubberman with Fusions
- Fog > Smog > Dimwalk x 2 > run with Blurry Whirl bs
- Skull Smasher > Skull Smasher > run with Pdx Whirl > Spinning Whirl x 2
- Goliath, sealed with a run
- Drifter > Vortex > Pdx Drifter x 2

Tomorrow I may have a morning shred with Rory before I have to go to work. One day weekend for me, but atleast the work that I have to do will be physically easy and I get paid 22 an hour. Sunday I will work out, and give my legs some rest.

The fury was soooo tight. I freaked out a lot. :P

Also, my ankle is somewhat better today. I'm thinking back to when I sprained it last time, and I struggled to stand up at all. I'm able to put my full weight on it, I just don't have a lot of mobility rotation wise...

You're a monster Byrin. Jus think how good the summer video is going to be. ;)

Idol? I'm very flattered

And I CAN'T WAIT for summer to be here, so we can start filming!! Hey, would you guys want to come to my aunty's? I'm sure it would make for some very good shots. You can film from their balcony, facing a lake, and then afterwards we can eat and play Xbox or soak in the hot tub :D .

Ok, so onwards...

The kick with Rory on Saturday started out pretty rough since we both were pretty stiff and sore from Friday's sesh at the YMCA. Still, however, it turned out really good. I gave Rory my secret to gyro, and then commenced to witness his first Vortex on both sides!! I hope he can master the technique. As for me, I hit Pdx Drifter > Pdx Torque x 2 on both sides. Finally! 8)

Sunday was my relaxing one-day weekend. I did my laundry, worked out then went clothes shopping! I picked myself up this sweeeeeeeeet pair of muscle shirts which are so choice for kicking outside (if the weather permits it).

Today was my first shred in one pair, and it felt so choice I couldn't help but do a bit of filming to show you guys and gals. After this session, I've come to the conclusion that it gets an 'A' in both the performance and visual appeal categories.

New Shirt Sesh
21 megs
171 seconds long

Footbag news, I realized my problem with quantum sets and now they aren't that hard. I'm going to start putting them into my drilling routine, so that in about a month they will be bread and butter. Next up - fairy sets  .

[Goals]
- 150 tilt
- Alpine Toe Blur
- Predator > Predator

I'll make them all due next Friday, to save my knees.

PS - Can't wait until summer :D
PPS - I was totally thinking of Ken in that opening shot

Thank you for the comments everybody! More variety will come - with time friends. Eggbeater, Blender, Torque, and fairy/quantum set drilling will become a reality. But not now. I'm still not where I want to be with the current tricks I've been drilling :P.

Yesterday's sesh was alright - I took it a bit easier this time around since the day before resulted in a bit of shin and knee pains, so I ended up going easy and working on quantum and fairy sets. Today is rest and workout day, then tomorrow I'm going to get back into the swing of things.

So fairy sets came a long way, though since my legs weren't in tip-top shape my quantum (and especially atomic) sets felt sluggish. Still, good things came out of it I reckon.

- Quantum / Slapping + Mirage / Legover / Pickup / Illusion / Butterfly (I think some of those are new?)
- Fairy ss Legover > FLO x 4
- Nallegam > Fairy Pickup x 4
- Fear > Fairy ss Mirage x 4

Blubberman wasn't happening yesterday, but that's alright. With time it will be as easy as Rubberman and become a daily drill for quantum sets.

I think I'm going to begin pushing my shuffle harder. Depending on how solid I feel, I may begin tomorrow or Sunday. I may experiment with it tomorrow, but by Sunday I want my solo drilling sessions to take on a new shape.

The great thing is, I already know how to begin this process. I've been doing it all along, just on a much smaller scale ;).
