im sorry dude....it was really poor taste, but i was SO proud because it was the first really good burn i came up with and it just popped into my head, and i dont know you at all, and im sure you are a cool guy, and drilling your soles probably isnt necessary.

sorry!

That is pretty lame. People don't drill their soles so they're "faster", they drill them so they DON'T FUCK THEIR KNEES UP.

Putting insoles in your shoes isn't important. Just drill your tricks!
Stretching isn't important. Just drills your tricks!

Geez.

why isn't stretching important? I find it keeps most of the aches that footbag can cause at a minimum.. plus it'll keep you healthy as you get older.

Yea drilling holes in your shoes probably doesnt make you any faster. I think i'm going to try it on my old pair of lavers when my new ones break in.

same goes for the added weight of black lavers.. they're visually heavier so people think that they weigh them down more than the standard white lavers. they're the same weight as every other color though.

Well Eli sold me his drilled Lavers a long time ago, and he only did it for the Green/White Lavers had very hard soles, and drilling them made them flex better. I actually did not like the heel drilled out like it was, but we don't use our heels much, right??? It was a weight savings, but I don't think the New Lavers will require drilling, and yes, drilling tricks is way more important. Ciao, Michael

I recently helped someone mod their new lavers and I noticed the heel underneath the insole has pencil-eraser sized holes.

Incorrect. They are heavier because of the black pigment used to dye the shoes.

I would like to drill my shoes because I don't like the way spenco insoles feel, and if it will give me more shock-absorbsion, I'm all for it. It has nothing to do with lightness or speed, but if that comes with it it'll be a bonus. I would definitely appreciate Jon or someone on the forum to post their drilled lavers so I can get a good look. I really don't want to mess up my main shred shoes. That would suck.

Just one small point.

Drilling holds adds air into your soles.
Air does nothing to absorb or dissipate shock.

It may feel softer because of the increased movement in the foam, but all the shock from hitting the ground is moving into your legs.

Spencos absorb and dissipate shock.

Shock is what destroys joints.

I personally don't see how drilling your soles could provide an increase in anything except stability.

In theory, the holes allow the sole to compress more, and thus absorb more of the impact, instead of the minimal compression you get without drilling. Although some say proper form is to stay on one's toes, which would negate the necessity for holes at least in the normal placement on most shoes.
