You should just move to Santa Cruz to play footbag with hardcore players like us. Why not have a session every other day, with brett, or mark..or CHAD.. or sam.. or solo. NRFC in session March 29th Son.
For clippers...I would try doing 10 just stalling the bag, and bringing it real low without setting it again. each side. And then try 10 consecutive each side. then repeat this for weeks.
props on the insides. they're good for clippers. try inside set to same side clipper. it looks sweet.

Started with a solo session at Lincoln Elementary this fine evening..then Brett joined me, though he is ill (More physical than mental at this point).
Strictly drilling tonight...here's the highlights:
All in all, it was a good session. I'm glad Brett came out, as well..cause it's hard to keep motivation all by yourself. I'm inspired by people who have no one around for miles to play with..I take my fellow footbaggers for granted. I sweat hard, and am glad I had a fairly productive night.
I must shred every day.
Strictly drilling tonight...here's the highlights:
- Pickups..couldn't hit more than 7 back to back. Though I devoted a good amount of the session to schooling them.
Flipside Mirage: ~15
Flipside Illusion: ~3 tops. Ugh.
ATWs (In-Out Flip): ~3 tops.
ATWs (Out-In Flip): ~3 tops.

Thanks for the encouraging words, Charles. It means a lot coming from you, considering you're a main reason I started playing footbag. I am very lucky to play with Chad...I don't know who Brad is, and Chris Pinkus.
Tonight I had a session with Brett, some of which was filmed. We drilled clippers for about 10 minutes or so..throw in some pickup drilling, and a few of the standard runs...then we kind of got distracted. It's alright though, cause it was fun to get distracted. I'll continue the drills tomorrow.
I can't tell you how many attempts at flail I deleted tonight in order to submit something to the novice sick 1. Now I'm torn between a couple attempts at flail and a couple at symposium fairy. Symp. fairy is a really cool concept but flail is much more difficult in my mind..so I'll probably go with the latter. Either way I need to try it again tomorrow, cause tonight's attempts were much too thin to be entered in a competition.
Hell, that Toby bag is such big incentive....good enough to eat.
In stitching news: After making half of my first 32 panel I lost the rest of the panels to finish it, along with the template. This left me with a biege and black facile turtle and no choice but to start a new bag. I just finished cutting out all the panels and I'm going to start stitching it tomorrow. I have high hopes that it will be a decent bag once I get some sweet filler from Jake Raye (who was very generous in selling it to me).
Stitching is so theraputic.
I think I'll go dream of that Toby bag...*dreamy sigh*

Short session with Brett and...MARK! Haven't shredded with him in a while, and was glad to have him around.
Drilled ATWs and clippers mainly, before Mark got out the digi-cam and we started filming novice sick 1 and 3s. I think I got a pretty deep flail that I'm going to submit, but I'm waiting on Mark to send me the file so I can review it in SLLLOOOW-motion. ..Hoping it's clean.
I'm really happy that I'm starting to see progress in my clippers..this drilling is finally paying off. I think I hit about 7 consecutive on my strongside, and I can see improvement in my flip (though no records). Can't wait to shreddd it up tomorrow.
Time to go watch a movie and continue stitching my bag

Session tonight with Brett and Sanne.
Drilled clippers and ATWs..fooled around with atomic butterfly (tough, much?). Worked some symp. pixies....Short session, for my groin is bumping.
Session tomorrow in Venice with Chad and Chris..hoping Mike Hansen will come too, seeing as I've never played with him.

Awesome session today in Venice beach with Chad and Chris (Almost 3 hrs). I think I definitely play better when playing with people who are way better than me.
Some notable strings/runs:
Clipper mirage > legover > clipper mirage > legover ..This was a first. Though I need to improve my flipside clipper a ton, I still managed to hit it. Even with a weak clipper it's pretty easy to hit mirage out of it.
Symp. mirage > symp. pixie > symp. mirage > symp. pixie ..! Took me many attempts but I finally hit it, and it felt damn good. Now I just need to be able to repeat it over and over as a drill
ATW (both directions) > pixie > BS ..Good/fun little drill. Need to practice it a lot more. My ATWs are getting a lot better though, mos' def'.
DLO ..Got really close to hitting it flipside, as well. I need to practice this a lot more, and would like to see it on film, cause I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but when I do hit it, it seems to be a tad too easy. I also hit it on my strongside at the end of a short run.
That's all I can really remember..as far as the short strings that I was somewhat proud of. I definitely had several long(er) runs that were upwards of 10 contacts..which is really good for me.
I am really happy with today's session; I had a lot of fun playing with Chad and Chris, and I think I played very well because they were around. Maybe it was the choice Abshire (fixed up by Emily) we were playing with. What a beautiful bag.
I can't wait 'til the filler I ordered from Jake Raye comes so I can put some weight into my Abshire.
In other news..I now am an official IFPA member. Check out the few videos I have in my member gallery.
Time to go continue stitching my bag while I watch a movie. Uh, na na na na.
EDIT: I almost forgot...I hit clipper>symp. mirage on my strongside a couple times. Still gotta get it down BSOS or BS at the very least. Also: Hit clipper > far legover for the first time.
Thanks for sparking my memory, Funk.

What's confusing? Clipper set > mirage > legover > clipper set > mirage.Bander87 wrote:Clipper mirage > legover > clipper mirage > legover
^ I'm confused.
Clear things up?
EDIT: And yeah, it does feel nice to be an IFPA member. Just finished uploading a few videos..after sizing down the ridiculously oversized ones.

Oh ok, I was like "you can't go from a toe stall to a clipper mirage, but obviously you do clipper first THEN the mirage

In that case, I'll have to double my current consecutive clipper record before I go up thereSenor Grommet wrote:When you come up here, I promise that your consec. clipper record will be doubled.
Session today at Mark's house!
Was pretty fun/productive/both. Drilled clippers and ATWs for the most part...I was trying to hit ATWx2 (both directions, twice) > Pixie > BS but I kept messing up towards the end of the set. Got pretty close..I'll have to hit it tomorrow/[maybe] tonight.
Worked on paradox mirage a little bit..I'm able to hit it on my strongside, but flip is still a task. All I need to do is get my flipside clipper up to par, then everything else will fall into place.
Spent the rest of the session with the camera out, trying to get novice sick runs. Uploading now
For next session, I plan to drill: Pixies, clippers, pickups, and ATWs on my flipside. I also would like to drill SS flail on my flipside, but that's on the back burner for right now.

Sesssssion at Mark's with Brett (and Mark, of course)..almost 2hrs. long.
After so many tries I finally hit ATW out x2 > ATW in x2 > Pixie BSOS...This little string is something that started as a drill idea but turned into a feat just to hit it once.
Mirage > Pickup x2.5 or so
Illusion > Legover x2.5 or so
A run including Pdx. Mirage, clipper set mirage, and clipper set legover.
New Tricks
:
Pdx Symp. Mirage
Pdx Illusion
Clipper set illusion
Drilled flipside clippers as per usual....slow and steady. I can't wait until my flipside clipper gets as good as my strong side, because clipper tricks are fun!
Tonight's session was a lot of fun..until tomorrow..when I'll finish my second bag...then shred more.
Now that's a lot of elipses.

Had another really good session tonight..started with Brett and Sanne at my house (for about 1.5hrs) and then I moved to Lincoln Elementary for more light and a continued solo session (for about 1.25hrs).
Tonight, among other tricks, I drilled clippers, inside delays, and ATWs like mad. Here's two good drills I came up with:
From my strongside clipper I hit:
Consec. pickups x15
At the end of the session I worked the mirage>pickup>rpt drill and repeated it more times than I ever have...I was in the zone, and therefore not counting but it was easily 5x
Also tried the illusion>legover>rpt but only hit it once or twice in a row.
Sweat was definitely dripping out of every pore at the end of this session..a lot of drills, a lot of progress, and a lot of fun.
Word.
Tonight, among other tricks, I drilled clippers, inside delays, and ATWs like mad. Here's two good drills I came up with:
- For clippers and inside delays I would do 4+ inside delays and then as many consecutive clippers as I could (mainly on my flipside)...did that for quite a bit.
For ATWs (again, mainly flipside) I would do 5 out-in (my strong direction) and then do as many in-out ATWs as I could.

- legover
mirage
symp. mirage
bubba

2 hour session on level 2 of the Metlox parking structure. Brett and Sanne were there for much of it.
Drilled mainly clippers, which meant I drilled inside delays a lot. Tried drilling pickups, but they're damn hard. ATWs..the usual. Tried for clipper>symp. mirage BSOS but to no avail.
I often set it too far behind me on my flipside clipper..quite annoying, but I'm working around it. My clippers are definitely improving, and I'm very happy with my strongside.
Hit bubba...uh, nothing really exciting this session. Mainly a lot of clipper drilling. Definitely going to do a lot more runs next session to see how all this drilling has paid off.

Played for about an hour and a half solo at the tennis courts, then when I was walking home I came across Brett...so we headed back down and played for a 1/2 hour more.
A lot of clipper drilling (Of course)..but I went for some strings as well.
I'm especially proud of: Symposium mirage>legover BSOS, Symp. mirage>pickup BSOS, symp. pixie x5 or 6.
I got especially close to whirl, which was kind of cool since tonight was the first time I seriously tried it.
Nothing else too interesting..shredding hard til you're soaking with sweat feels really good.
