Here is some shit i took off the anti-weed commercial's website.
i love pot.
and nei-tan is right, air pollution will be worse for you that pot EVER will be. there is nothing to fear about pot, EXEPT, the fear.
ug. i hate propaganda. here was a letter i sent to them. ( i know i posted this B4, but this os for the newbies, who have not seen it. thanx for your time.Marijuana is not a harmless little plant. Marijuana can cause changes to your brain and it contains the same cancer-causing chemicals as tobacco.¹ It can also ruin your future, by getting you kicked out of school or off a sports team, or get you in trouble with the law. You call that harmless? And besides, the fact that something is 100 percent natural doesn't mean it's good for you. Heroin is synthesized from a chemical produced by the opium poppy. Cocaine is extracted and refined from the coca plant. These are two of the most harmful drugs known today
Research proves that marijuana is addictive.² It's true that withdrawal might not be as severe as with heroin or other drugs, but research shows that people who regularly smoke marijuana have withdrawal symptoms-drug cravings, decreased appetite, nervousness, irritability, stomach pain, aggression, and anxiety, among others.³
Marijuana affects the skills needed for safe driving: alertness, the ability to concentrate, coordination and reaction time. A study of patients in a shock-trauma unit who had been in traffic crashes found that 15 percent of those who had been driving a car or motorcycle had been smoking marijuana, and another 17 percent had both THC (the active ingredient in marijuana) and alcohol in their blood.4
Marijuana contains the same cancer-causing chemicals as tobacco-including the deadly carcinogen benzopyrene-and at higher concentrations. Smoking five joints a week is the equivalent of smoking an entire pack of cigarettes every day which, even in the short term, leads to lung and respiratory problems. Long-term use increases the chances of tissue damage and lung cancer. Regardless of the content of THC (the intoxicating chemical in marijuana) the smoke inhaled by users contains three to five times more tar than cigarette smoke. A study conducted at the University of California, Los Angeles shows that the way smokers inhale marijuana and hold it in the lungs adds to the damage.5
Can impair judgment and make a person more likely to get into trouble The popular stereotype of the pot user is the "mellow" label. The facts don't support this image. Smoking dope can lead to anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and paranoia.6 Teens who become regular marijuana users are three times as likely to have suicidal thoughts than those who don't, according to the National Household Survey on Drug Abuse.7 The Household Survey also found that teens who frequently use marijuana are almost four times as likely to commit a violent act-either against people or property-than those who don't. They're five times as likely to steal.8
Even after users stop feeling the effects of marijuana, the drug can linger in the body for a few weeks. That means it can be detected by a standard drug test long after its initial use.9
You're more likely to become addicted to marijuana than any other illicit drug. In fact, 60 percent of teenagers in drug treatment programs in the United States are there for primary marijuana addiction.
A study conducted several years ago showed that marijuana activates the same pleasure centers in the brain that are targeted by heroin, cocaine and alcohol. Another study demonstrated that people who regularly smoke marijuana have withdrawal symptoms-nervousness, irritability, stomach pain, aggression, and anxiety, among others-when they stop smoking. The lead researcher in this study concluded it was likely that "the onset of the withdrawal symptoms we observed . . . may contribute to maintaining chronic marijuana use." In other words, once you start smoking, the chemicals in marijuana may make it harder for you to stop.
Comparing the chemical make-up of marijuana and tobacco smoke reveals some interesting facts:
Regardless of the content of THC (the intoxicating chemical in marijuana), the smoke inhaled by pot users contains three to five times more tar than cigarette smoke.
If by "out of control" you mean hallucinating, hearing voices, or suddenly deciding you've sprouted wings, then sure, marijuana will let you stay "in control." But recent research has revealed how marijuana can affect the risks you take, and what you're more likely to do, while stoned:
THC changes the way sensory information is processed by the brain. The immediate effects of smoking pot include memory problems, distorted perception, difficulty in thinking and problem-solving, loss of physical coordination, and increased heart rate and anxiety. Some people experience full-blown panic attacks or extreme paranoia. These immediate effects can affect judgment, decision-making skills, and behavior. Studies have shown marijuana use to be a significant factor in traffic crashes, and a contributor to risky sexual behaviors that increase the likelihood of disease and unwanted pregnancies.
Research also shows that the longer you continue to smoke pot, the more you drift out of control. The National Household Survey on Drug Abuse (a recent survey of American teenagers) reveals that teens who frequently use marijuana are almost four times as likely to commit a violent act-against either people or property-than those who don't. They're five times as likely to steal. They're a long way from mellow.
Marijuana can hurt you in a lot of different ways. Know the facts before you make the decision to use it.
he hee.your site if full of information that is mis-leading, and coated in propaganda BS. i hope you have time to read this. you might actually learn something usefue about pot. In this site you make several refrences to how, and i quote, "Marijuana can cause changes to your brain and it contains the same cancer-causing chemicals as tobacco." both true and misleading. THC (delta-9-tetrahydro cannibinol) While in your system, TEMPORARILY reconstructs the fatty tissue around your brain cells. This does indeed damage the cells but DOES NOT KILL THEM!, so when ever you hear somone saying "pot kills brain cells" this is an out right LIE! Damaged cells can repair them selves, back to natrual order, while, smoking cigerattes, and alcohol, just to name a few, KILL them. yet these are VERY much so legal. but like the effects of the drug, dissapate when usesage has stopped. and about the same cancer causing "chemicals" as in tobacco, is again, true but misleading. Example:Coffee has well over 200 checmicals that of the 22 tested, 18 determined to cause cancer in lab animals. yet coffee is quite legal, and concidred relitivly safe. You sya that "It can also ruin your future, by getting you kicked out of school or off a sports team, or get you in trouble with the law. You call that harmless?" what the hell is that? pot has nothing to do with if you child wishes to be disobedent, and get kicked out of school. Maybe the parents should take up the responsability of raising their kids, instead of tring to push it off on something as trivial as pot. "Marijuana affects the skills needed for safe driving: alertness, the ability to concentrate, coordination and reaction time." I disagree completly. While on pot, you CAN have a higher (no pun intended) state of consiouness. More aware of your surroundings, and situations around you. But having someone eles in the car, if your high or not, will eleavate the percentages of getting in a wreck, simply because of there being a distraction. "A study of patients in a shock-trauma unit who had been in traffic crashes found that 15 percent of those who had been driving a car or motorcycle had been smoking marijuana, and another 17 percent had both THC (the active ingredient in marijuana) and alcohol in their blood" but what you are neglecting to mention, that with over half of ALL accedents, alchohol is involved. so tell me how pot is more dangerous than Alcohol! How many people die each year from Alcohol poisining? Thaousands apoun thousands! Now, how many people have died from the use of Marijuana? NONE!!!, but you conviently leave such facts out of your Propaganda Episiodes, saying how dangourus pot is. I think you need to reassess the situation, and quit being selectivly blind to ALL the facts, not just the ones that make it sound bad. This website is obviously aimed toward scared parents, that are afraid their kids might be on drugs, and all your doing is feuling thir fears. in short, Making the problem Worse! And these,anti-pot commericals that are on TV are SUCH BULLSHIT!!! do you sit down in your little meetings, and try to find the most absurd and far fetched reasons pot is bad for you? it seems that way. "Marijuana contains the same cancer-causing chemicals as tobacco-including the deadly carcinogen benzopyrene-and at higher concentrations. " again, true but misleading. theses harmful chemicals you speak of, come from the combustion of the plant, which can be avoided be methods such as Vaporizing, and Cooking with it (ingestion) but again you conviently left his part out. "Marijuana contains the same cancer-causing chemicals as tobacco-including the deadly carcinogen benzopyrene-and at higher concentrations. " only with pipes, and joints. however, Water Filtration (water pipes, Bongs etc) recude the tar but 70%! but once again, its left out in your site. "Can impair judgment and make a person more likely to get into trouble The popular stereotype of the pot user is the "mellow" label. The facts don't support this image." what facts? you show me a person on pot who becomes violent, or enraged! useres are 90% more likly to "let things go" such as getting irratated by some trivial encounter with what ever. They are more likly to think about whats going on, and focus their energies in a diffrent direction, often leading to the "Mellowness" you say that pot DOES NOT create, when it obiously does. "Teens who become regular marijuana users are three times as likely to have suicidal thoughts than those who don't" and what percent of these kids were on other drugs as well? have you ever thought that it might be because of the other drugs they might be on? or is it easier just to say "its because of the pot". god this is irratating. "The Household Survey also found that teens who frequently use marijuana are almost four times as likely to commit a violent act-either against people or property-than those who don't. They're five times as likely to steal." WHERE DO YOU COME UP WITH THIS SHIT? sounds to me like someone has recently watched "reefer madness" because that the kind of BS they would say. It sounds to me, like your afraid of something, because you don't understand it. Have you ever tried it? Maybe then you would at least have an idea of what it is about. "You're more likely to become addicted to marijuana than any other illicit drug. In fact, 60 percent of teenagers in drug treatment programs in the United States are there for primary marijuana addiction." you say this, simply because pot is almost always the first drug people obtain. Thats like saying that there are more Red Cars that get into accidents on the road, when the fact is there are simply MORE red cars than any other color, It may be true, but VERY misleading, but i suppose that is the point of this whole site, isn't it? "THC changes the way sensory information is processed by the brain. The immediate effects of smoking pot include . . . difficulty in thinking and problem-solving" Absolutly FALSE! pot users often repot "Thinking too much" and INCREACED problem sloving, although it is usally a more abstract solution. "THC changes the way sensory information is processed by the brain. The immediate effects of smoking pot include memory problems, distorted perception, difficulty in thinking and problem-solving, loss of physical coordination, and increased heart rate and anxiety." wow, you guys really know how to lay it on thick. POT DOES NOT PROMOTE "RISKY" SEXUAL BEHAVIOUR! Thats the kind of crap that is being broadcast over the air, and is a downright LIE! "Know the facts before you make the decision to use it." Practice what you preach, and quit Lieng to the public! I hope to hear back from you, hacky_slacker

I am not a pot advocate, nor do I dislike peeps who smoke it. . .I have done it before. However, I would like to know where you are geting your information Dustin. Because truthfully, why would a substance which does no harm to you, according to what you have said, be illegal? ?
Please address the following questions:
From where are you getting your info (online, medical journals, books from library)?
Who publishes the texts from which you are getting your info?
Do you believe everything you read?
Have you done research yourself in this subject?
Are you quoting a source that you are sure is accurate? Or might you or this source be biased?
I'd just like to know. I dont believe everything that I read, which is why I dont believe what you posted. Hell, I dont even believe what I posted. I just wanna be informed.

i agree with Jeremy, if you are getting info from a site that is pro-pot it will be saying that there is nothing wrong with it. but if you go to a different site that is anti-pot you will probably get totally different information.

Jeremy, how many people have you heard about dying of an overdose of pot? I'll give you a hint, it isn't possible (except in rare cases when someone is severely allergic, but don't quote me on this). Okay, now how about people dying from alcohol poisoning?....... alcohol is legal, pot isn't. Part of the reason that Cannabis Sativa is illegal is because it is VERY closely related to Cannabis indica, or hemp. Hemp can be used for many many uses, the fiber can be used to make paper, rope, clothes, etc. The oil can be used as fuel (Henry Ford was working on a car that ran on hemp oil). The seeds can be eaten, by livestock as well as humans, in fact they provide one of the most complete proteins known to man. I wrote a paper on this if anyone wants to see it, in the mean time, I'll shut up because I'm getting of subject. Anyway.... when it was being debated, some of the biggest advocates for the criminalization of marijuana were; the owner of du pont (his full name slips my mind), and William Randolph Hearst (who owned a major newpaper as well as having interests in forresting). They were threatened by hemp because it yielded higher grade paper, rope, and sustainable oil. Racism was also a big part of why pot was illegalized, in fact the term marijuana was invented by opponents of cannabis because it sounded "hispanic". I'm a bit rusty on some of the info, but everything I have said here can be found in "the great book of hemp"
TW, Chicago Inner Circle.
I thought hemp (indica??) didn't get you high.
Indica plants have a heavy, stony high that is relaxing and can help different medical problems.
Sativa plants have an energetic, cerebral high which can stimulate brain activity and may produce hallucinations.
Hybrid strains have a combination of both Indica and Sativa highs which are relative to strain ratio.

Anyone who wants to, go there and watch Grass. It's a documentary narrated by Woody Harelson. It explains why cannabis became illegal originaly (so we could keep the mexicans down! it apparantly gave them superhuman strength, RAWR)

Dustin, I showed someone that post you made a while back last night and they ended up smoking with me for there first time. He liked it.
Yeah, weed was legal til the cotton company's and lumber company's descided they didn't want to be put out of business, although it would save rain forest, so they put up propaganda like hell.
I was surpised by the raitio of the vote in the beginning, but the current one makes more sense.
I'm going to watch that video right now.
EDIT: There's a problem with the video. First of all, it's real player, so it sucks. But the problem is that the audio and video aren't in sync after the beginning. After about 10 minutes (It's an hour and 18 minutes long, really a movie, not a video) it starts to get off and gets worse. I thought If I could download it, I might be able to get it to play right, but even using the getright browser and searching source code, I can't figure out how to get it any way but streaming. If someone can figure out how to get the audio to play correctly, it would be greatly appreciated because I want to show it to people, but not like this. Come on random computer geek.

ok one question I will put out there is this is it easier to tell weither someone is drunk than stoned? I belive yes and thus we can tell if the guy on the construction site is inebreated. but for the one that is high is it so easily told? and do you want the guy thats working the crane thats bringing large beams or driving the dump truck next to you stoned? I think this is one issue in why it is illigal. I don't think people operate with there best when high yet it is not as easily seen. just food for thought
hmm.. of course these are my opinions-likely to be just as flawed as anyone else's. um, really I guess you should assume everyone's speaking out of some external influence. Belive in whatever makes sense to you.:JTHM

you know... There is nothing more satisfying than putting chemestry off for a good bong rip...
But seriously, if people are so damned worried about toxins, use a filter. That's what the ciggarette companies do. <shrugs> Or use a bong or whatever, it filters the smoke though the water... not as effective (i suppose) as a filter on a ciggarette, but it's better than nothing.
And sort of a joke for bum: The matrix has me... lmao PM me bum if you dunno what I am talking about.. just make sure you tell me what you are talking about. I probably won't remember

no i don't beleive everything i read.
Yes, i have done MASS research on this topic.
i cannot give you all the refrences i have stumbled across over the years, but if you want to know that bad, do the research yourself. if i can find it, so can you. I try not to point out only the good things, but the bad as well. i try not to be biased. but sometimies, i am. sorry. anyway,
Indica is not hemp!
hemp is the "male" version of the plant.
Sativia-uplifting, creative, entergetic high
Indica-Heavy, intenses, often "couch-lock"

thats is one of the best complaments ive ever gotten. *blush* right on dude.
I think everyone in the world should try pot AT LEAST once in there life, so so they could see what "not" a big deal it is. ya know?
we all have our own mids to make up, and thats that.
i say go for it, but if you don't want to, then obvioulsy, don't.
i respect you the same, either way.
thank you for your time.

Wow, so its a completely different species, so thats why my friends weed affects me like that, I just thought gravity bong/lung hits hit me too hard. I smoke some really nice sativa most of the time then. Dustin, would you mind going into the exact difference between kronic and normal pot. Is it found in both of those strains?
I completely agree with the everyone SHOULD try it once thing, but like you said, they don't have too.

Kronic is actuall a "name brand" pot, such as blueberry, AK47, reclining buddah, white widow (rhino, shark, etc), Northern lights (5,7, etc). All exceptannal exellent pot, not compressed seedy crap, but beautiful cystally nugs, 99.99% seed free. *sigh* anyway. . .
the chanes that someone says they have "kronic" is usally just saying its dank, or what not. really good, inother words. not actually "Kronic"
not let me break it down a bit farhter... pull up a seat, kids.
Indica plants are fairly short, usually under 5 feet. bushy and compact branching, and short internodes. Short leaves, very wide, and darker shade of green than most sativias. (simply more clorophyill). Indica buds are dense and tight. intenese smells ranging from acrid, skunky, or musky, to equall pungent aromas. The smoke is dense, lung expanding, and cough inducing.the high is heavy body-orented and lethargic.
Sooo. . .
Sativa include both hemp and marijuana varities. Grow to 5 to 15 feet tall, symetrecly and like a pine tree. The stem between the leaves, the internode, is longer on this than the indicas. This gives the taller statures. Thelowest brances are the widest, growing from 1 1/2 to 3 feet, making a possibe 6 foot diamater to the plant. Long slender leaves, light green. The buds are less dense as indicas, but somtimes grown along an entire branch, developing a thin, compact cola. while others make large formations of very light buds. The smoke is sweet, spicy, or fruity. The highs are describes as Soaring, psycadelic, thoughtful, and spacy.
(sound familliar?
)
Incica-Sativa hybrids lean more towards the indica side. controlled height, not very tall, and after forced flowering the growth is limited, the side branches are not promentent, thus entailing, can be grown in a small space.
Sativa-Indica lean toward the sativa side. taller, and will double or triple there size if forced when ther are too small. Difficult for Sea of Green, ans they like to spread out.
got it?

Alcohol was illegal once before. It has negative effects on the human condition as well. We all know that alcohol kills your liver, and can be addicting, so why do they sell it in stores?Senor Grommet wrote:I am not a pot advocate, nor do I dislike peeps who smoke it. . .I have done it before. Think about the corelation between pot and alcohol before you think about the people that smoke/drink it. People can be responsible with alcohol and some can't. The same goes for pot. I am a casual smoker and drinker, and believe that everything is good in moderation.

I just began smoking pot a month or two ago. I won't say that it's all good, but I believe that it is worth the bad to get high. It is all a personal choice. People who are ok with cigarettes, but not ganja, are screwed up. Cigs do nothing positive for the smoker, and they smoke all over public places, thus bothering non-smokers. Weed is usually done in private, hidden places with people who are indulging in the drug also, AND it gets you high.
Now people ok with alcohol... often get in fights and such (I think. People will probably disagree) Alcoholics abose family.
I don't know...Do what you please, think what you want.
