1.29.06 ucsc session

Post by funklovesfootbag »

played freestyle for like 3 hours today at ucsc with jeremy, emily, dat, steve goldberg, and dustin rhodes. then we played 4 square, my first time. pretty fun.

hit blender for the first time
atw X27 strongside, 20 in to out then 7 out to in.
ducking pdx mirage
some good sick 10 practice runs
whirl bsos! whirl>osis>clipper>whirl>drop on osis
merkon
illusion bsos
clipper>symp mirage bsos

i think thats it. very very sore from yesterday's mega session.

solo drilling session

Post by funklovesfootbag »

played footbag in my tiny dorm room for the first time today.. i think no one was home otherwise they might have complained about the noise. anyway..

schooled for an hour.

legover X23
ducking legover both sides
19 and then 25 atw's out to in strongside, and 26 flip in to out. new records!
hit diving toe>ducking toe>diving toe>ducking toe after many attempts.
clipper X3>osis>clipper X3>osis>clipper X3>osis twice
clipper>far osis BSOS
toe diving clipper BSOS, toe diving butterfly BSOS

and a FATTY toe drifter. also started a new drill, pickup>out-to-in atw repeating both sides, since my out-to-in flip atw is pathetic.

Post by funklovesfootbag »

Shredded for 3 hours with emily and jeremy. I felt GREAT. knees felt good, ankles felt good, shins felt good, feet felt good.

hit dlo>pixie same clipper>pdx mirage>toe drifter
drifter>drifter
toe torque
paradox drifter
clipper>dlo both sides, eggbeater
22 legovers, 22 consecutive same side clippers
clipper>spinning osis a few times but very sketchy.

between 10 and 20 attempts at ducking drifter.
zulu toe>zulu toe, zulu legover

i think thats all worth mentioning.. i feel really good about my game. only one way to go. ... .. well, i guess i COULD get worse, but im just gonna get better.

drilllllls

Post by funklovesfootbag »

HARDCORE schooling session today. decided to play footbag instead of go to jiu jitsu.. which seems to be happening a lot lately.

drilled soooooo much stuff today, played alone for 3 hours.

15 consecutive strongside illusions, 4 flip (haha, ugh.)
drilled dlo a little bit

crispy torque both sides footed bsos
blur>opp blur
ripwalk bsos, footed whirl>ripwalk>whirl
whirl bsos, drifter bsos twice, toe drifter and toe whirl bsos

hit flip drifter 3/10 and strong drifter 5/10 .. attempted way more than that but i wanted to see vaguely how consistent i was.... (not consistent enough.) drifter>drifter twice

paradox drifter BSOS! first time hitting it flip!! :D :D

i had a revelation about my atomic because jeremy was trying to teach me quantum yesterday, and said i should be jumping off the opposite foot like other sets; well, i guess i hadn't been doing this and that's why i was missing atomic lately.

today i hit legbeater both sides, tapdown, crispy eggbeater, atomsmasher both sides FOOTED bsos

hit curve but no seal; it was flukish but i got real excited anyways.

i took my challenge sheet with me and tried some of the drills, hit mirage>pixie>mirage>pixie 28 contacts

ss clipX5>infinity>osis>infinity>ss clipX5>infinity>osis. took me soooo long to get that far.

hit clip>ss legover>ss clip>ss pickup>ss clip>ss mirage>ss clip>ss illusion BSOS>opp clipper>ss pickup>ss clipper>far legover>opp clip>pdx mirage>opp clip>pdx mirage>drop

at the end of the session i decided to warm down with consecutive clippers..

hit 25 consecutive same side clippers left foot, tried to hit it bsos but missed the first contact cus my legs were so tired.
Hit 22 consecutive, 23, then 28 on my right foot. i dropped on 29 as i collapsed to the floor in utter exhaustion. this marked the end of the session. hope i can walk tomorrow.

*EDIT* I sat down for 20 minutes and then got up; my hips feel like im 130 years old. thanks atomic!

aptos session with dave jeremy and emily.

Hit paradox torque and backside blur.

Hit spinning osis in a run, some good tiltless runs, ducking clipper>ducking clipper, butterfly>pdx illusion bsos, ducking butterfly bsos.

Going to try and incorporate more drifters, whirls, and stepping into my runs, and work on my ducking like a mofo.
