How long til you were good?

Post by Guest_2 »

I'd like to hear how long it took for people to become good. And by that, I mean if they can recall how long it took to achieve the various stages in footbag, from the day they began freestyle. That can be interpereted however you wish, I'm going by the defination of when I received lavers:

Kickless: Couple months

Tiltless: 9 months

Guiltless: Just you wait ;-)

etc.

Now you try :-)

Hmm.

I was tiltless when I got my lavers I think.

I started playing september 2001 - pretty much didn't kick in runs at all - either kicked a bag around or stalled it but not both.

I guess it took about 14 motnhs for me to get tiltless. I don't really remember. I was definitely capable of short tiltless runs by December 2002. It took about 4 months from there to become guiltless - I was guiltless by April 2003, could hit 10 unique tripless and 3 fearless by September 2003. I guess that's exactly 2 years to get to that stage. Not sure where my game is now - solid genuine I guess - after 4 and half years.

tiltless = playing with only 2 adds or better
guiltless = 3
tripless = 4
fearless = 5
beastly = 6
godly = 7

I've been playing for 6-7 months, I'm about 10 contacts tiltless

It took me, like, 2 years to go tiltless,
another 2 to go guiltless,
and then another 2-3 to get to where I was happy with my game ("good").
(And then suddenly I couldn't play anymore :cry: )

After I seriously started freestyling it took me 2 months to get tiltless, then 2 months to guiltless. And then I got Lavers. After that it took me about a year to get "good". So altogether less than 1½ years.

I have such a hard time remembering the beginning years. I just know i wasn't going to become very good because of my bum knee. So once I had surgery - 2 years ago - that's when things started becoming easier (after recovery). I'll just guess at it, Brad, correct me if I'm wrong... I'm probably completely wrong :lol: I never really payed attention to adds...until the last 2 years.

kicking 1 year
tiltess 2 years
guiltless 2 years
tripless 1/2 year

Yeah, I don't really go tripless, I have the ability to, but it's too difficult for me.

I got my first lavers in '98, but I've only played sporadically since then. I'm going to guess the hours played instead.

Tiltless: 75-100

Almost Guiltless: ~150

kickless, approx. 5-7 years
tiltess, approx. 1 more year
and im SO close to going guitless. its taken me about 3-5 months to go from tiltless to where i am now, which is about 15-20 guiltess contacts on average.
my record is probably about 7 for tripless

Before today, I was weak tiltless, but after a session i just ended, I think I'm truly guiltless because 1. somehow my mirages got literally 100x better, and 2. I can now set my left sided clipper well enough so that I can go clipper > opp clipper >clipper > opp clipper, and on and on. So let's see... I started getting serious late October, so that means its taken me a little over 3 months for me to go tiltless.
