Yep, Lavers are the way to go man. At least for now. That's the standard for footbag, and pretty much everyone on here will tell you they are excellent footbag shoes. As for bags, yeah go to either www.worldfootbag.com the $10 or less section and check out the Mr. Sandbag for $7 bucks. That's an excellent beginner bag. Also www.efootbag.com has a decent 4 panel synth suede for about the same price, but it doesn't last as long. When I started, I didn't think that getting the proper equipment mattered much, but it really is crucial to good performance.
