Something to go by...

Post by Anexthesis »

I need some organization in my game, as lately I've been getting pretty sloppy (i.e.: few tricks I can do bsos) so I'll organize my thoughts here and give myself a place to go from. What prompted my to start this is that I hit a major personal benchmark today in the form of my first 5 add move! PS Whirl. Finally nailed it today.

Anyway for the meat of why I'm here. Any move noted with an asterisk has been drilled to death and can be hit pretty much at will, as such they won't be talked about beyond this first post.

One other thing I'll occasionally talk about are move theories I've come up with.

Basic Moves;
*Toe/Inside/Outside/Clipper Stalls - BSOS, very strong BS
*Butterfly - Infinity Record: 8, Nuff Said IMO
Mirage/Pdx. Mirage - BSOS, weak on FS
Illusion - FS only, weak in general
*Legover/Pickup - BSOS, more or less mastered
ATW in>out/out>in - BSOS, weak on FS
Osis - Strong BS, needs work as when I'm tired it goes to shit

Mid-Level Moves;
Whirl - Very strong on one side, can't hit on my FS (close though) <----- FAVORITE MOVE
Rev. Whirl - FS is close, strong side is nowhere near it
Swirl - Very strong on one side, can't hit on my FS
Drifter/pdx. Drifter - Weak BS, once I'm more balanced this is my big focus
DATW - Weak on one side, can't hit on the other
Double Leg Over - Decent on my strong side, hit once on my FS

Move Elements;
Ducking/Diving - Very weak, needs a ton of work BS
Gyro/Spinning - Non-existant, not a priority ATM (my glasses fly off when I spin :x )
Symposium - Needs serious work on BS but certain moves are solid
Paradox - Weak in general BS but again certain moves are solid

Rising Sets;
Pixie - Decent on strong side but it's flukey, non-rising on FS
Fairy - Just learned on my FS, needs much work
Stepping - Decent on strong side but it's flukey, hit my first ripwalk on FS today (so it needs work lol)
Atomic - Can be done BS with equal suckiness...(I can get it to rise 1/5 times)

Ok so from that list I realize I have a lot to work on. From now till my next post my ONLY focus is to balance myself out. God I have a lot of work to do. :) Looking forward to it.

These plans are going to have to be on hold for awhile. My shin splints are acting up big time, 15 minute shreds and my leg is the size of a ballon. Going to the doc on thursday we'll see what happens then.

Well I missed my doctors appointment *Slaps Forehead* but low impact moves (I.E.: Non Jumping) I've been practicing.

Anyway so far I've been working on FS Swirls and Pixie/Fairy. I'm quite proud to say that my pixies on my FS have finally begun to rise for me on occasion and my strong side has been coming up nearly everytime (sometimes its even duckable!) I also thought that my swirls were never gonna happen FS but I've been spending about 10 mins a day working just on swirls and they're coming along nicely.

To summarize:
Swirls +1, Pixies +1!

Alright well since my last post I've gone to the doctor and had an x-ray. Nothing came up and so I've pretty much given up trying to figure out what is wrong with my ankle and start trying to adjust to the problem. I don't want to make it worse but without knowing what it is all I can do is try to make my ankle stronger...

Anyway, tonight I focused almost exclusively on my flipside with moves like pixie, swirl, whirl and strengthening my ATW's. My pixies are still on and off but my good side is getting to the point of mastery. Swirls still hate me, and I can't get the right ankle form for my whirls so those are still pretty hit or miss but the dex is getting much faster. ATW is still way too slow on my flip meanwhile my strong is getting decent with DATW so I need to play some major catch-up.

Summarizing I need to focus mainly on my flip with Pixie, Swirl, Whirl and ATW to even out my game.

Well I figured I'd update as I haven't for about 8-9 months and I've made some major progress since then. My tiltless is getting extremely strong on both sides. Only bubbas and illusions are still giving me trouble. My main focus for the last 9 months has been evening out my strong vs. flipside and the results have been incredibly encouraging. Moves that only a month ago were practically worthless on my flip are coming along nicely (mainly swirls and pixie).

Also I'm just getting some reliable 4 adds that I can toss in mid-string all bs. Ripwalk/Dimwalk/Parkwark/Sidewalk/Symp Whirl/Pdx Flail/Blur/Blizzard/and some spinning/ducking moves.

My main goal at the moment is to perfect my swirls on bs and get my fairy set to be more reliable. Though I recently hit a few of my bigger goals that I've had for a long while! My first 3 dex move - dimwalk swirl - and my second 3 dex shortly thereafter - fairy near DLO -

Thats about it for now, considering how much I've been playing recently I'll try to post here more often so I can keep track of all my new shit. Peace out.
