If your not too secretive about your stitching, place a pic of a bag you (almost made) inside out, I know im not the only one whos curious about the different styles of stitching.

You can't reaaaaaally learn much from an inside out bag (without getting to handle it) but I will still post one to show you when I am almost done my next one.

I really don't think this will help much ><, but here's the one I'm working on right now inside out:

lol...I'm using this crappy generic microsuede I picked up from Joanne Fabrics; plus I need to work on the uniformity of my stitching...

From a good picture, i can desipher a rough estimate of how much bite, # of stitches in a line, how the person connects the hexs, and a few other things. so for me, a pic of a bag inside out (along with a pic of the same bag right side out) can be useful for me and help me with my stitching.

Yeah, I tell ya Isaac, that pic of mosher's inside-out bag from the New Bags thread really helped me. There were a couple of other inside-out ones too. Before looking at it, I didn't have much of a concept of how much to gather. Go check out that thread, pages 28-42. It has a bunch of those types of pics plus some decent stitching tips.

uhm...i have to agree to the one post by mosher.just seeing the pic isnt very helping.just remember to make 6 stiches,make them as even as possible and the rest is pure practise.also,the gathering is varying from sticher to sticher.i dont gather as much as mosh does.cause my panels are smaller than his...so its all a practise thing.try out as much as you can.

but when i have one of my bags ready i will be sure to post you a pic in here!

wether it helps or not, i like seeing stitchers bags inside out, i think its neat to see there bags in comparison to mine

OMG gathering isn't even an issue, last stitch, no problem. It's gathering on the last panel that's a problem for me. Cuz the knot will slip into the bag and that panel will loosen up, so it's always a guess how tight to cinch before you tie the knot. Even though mosher and others probably use a completely different last stitch technique than mine, this is annoying, but I am getting better at guessing.

Also, I usually gather at the end of each pent, but I think on the last one I'll gather a side at a time, at least get 4 sides ready and pre-gathered to give me a good idea.

Matt, whats the measurement on the long sides of your hexes and the sides of your pents? I have been making a 32, but its really hard. I think my panels might be too small.

i wanted to say this without starting a new thread.
this thread would be very usefull if a couple items of informaion were added to each pic.
-right side out pic, show the bags size some how
-close up of gather
-dimensions of panels(e.x.,0.8 hexe long side, 0.8 pent, 30% hexe short side)
-possibly the item you gathered around if there was one
-any special notes about the bag

this thread could help new stitchers, and professional stitcher in finding a style they like and how they can aquire it.
i think that all stitchers should post all of the above listed info, to help others know how to make any style of bag.
