I'll take your word for it.
I'm just gonna shred, have fun and not get caught up with trick names.

This is because you need to concentrate on doing the legover at the same time is your other foot hits the ground. So long as you get the timing right, and execute the legover as your other foot hits the ground, you are doing the legover part right.
As for the mirage part, the secret is to set and slam your setting foot down as fast as you possibly can, this way you can change feet stright away and start dexing the mirage at peaktime.

Cool, thanks Nic, I been having trouble with those lately. DLOs are sketchy until you got em dialed.

Hi, I just need some tips on Double legover, I can't seem to dex fast enough. I'm not sure how high I need to set and how my feet should go.

Thanks :)

All these tips are for toe set op DLO:
Try to set about waist high. Try to put the setting foot down as quickly as you can and get the mirage foot going up quickly. DLO is basically a miraging symple legover, so practice symple legovers and DLO will become heaps easier.

Something that really helped me was remembering to set the bag really close to the body.

Alright, I'd like to think I'm somewhat of an expert on learning this move, because I've been schooling this move a lot over the past 5 months, BSOS is no problem and I've hit some basic variations.

First off, you guys are relative n00bs, and I think this move is harder than you realize. That's fine, but this is in on the high end of difficult 3-ADDs IMO, there are several 4-ADDs that are much easier. Kudos to you guys for trying to learn one of the coolest concepts in footbag (IMO)

I was once in your shoes too where I could hit mirages and legovers no problem, but DLO was still trouble (just look at the posts on the 1st page). I could hit it every once in a while, but it was tough. It felt like it was a lot of exertion and I had to do the dexes super quick. However, if you school the basic components to the point where you can do them in your sleep, you will find the move is A LOT easier.

Here are some things you need work on:

1) Clipper set mirage. You should be able to hit Clipper > Mirage > RPT alternating sides for a GOOD 20 contacts. School that before even attempting your next DLO. Mirages should be so solid you can do them effortlessly in a long run on both sides.

2) Symple Legovers. Practicing toe symple legover and far symple legover will help the most. This will train your foot to be able to "snag" the bag in mid air. This can be a very awkward concept at first, but it is key to snagging the legover at the end of a DLO (or eggbeater).

3) DOWNTIME legovers. If you are hopping to get a head start on your legover dex, that will make DLO extremely hard. You must be able to hit your legovers 100% downtime. If you are hopping, it's up- or midtime, in which case you need to school the motion without the hop. It should be a VERY tight dex. This may require re-learning the move to some degree, but it is very important.

4) Mirage > Legover > RPT. With DOWNTIME legovers. You should be able to hit 20 contacts of this drill regularly.

Yes, that's a lot of work. It will probably take a couple months to get all that stuff mastered, but if you get to the point where you can do all of that, DLOs will be cream cheese.

something that is helping me be more accurate with my symple legovers is to make sure I'm standing up straight. Then, I do all the exertion / muscle tension at the beginning of the symple legover, and by the time the catch comes around I try to relax a little bit to prepare to do something out of it. This is helping some. flip still sucks.

I shred with these guys and I think the thing that would help them out most would be to practice symple legovers.
Mirage > Legover > RPT. With DOWNTIME legovers
good drill, very good drill, definatley practice this one heaps.

there are several 4-ADDs that are much easier
really? which 4 adds do you find easier than DLO? personally I find toe set dlo to be one of the easier 3's, but then again I am a toe2toe player.

Senor Grommet wrote:I really think the key to hitting your FIRST FEW of ANY trick is to MINIMIZE THE TIME SPENT ON THE SET. Meaning: set the bag from toe as quickly as you can while keeping it accurate. Toe set up and bring that shiznit down as fast as you can. BEFORE the bag even reaches its peak, you should be starting your dexing for the dlo! I guarantee that if you try this and exectue the quick set correctly, you will hit DLO in your next session.
I just hit DLO earlier today after reading this advice, and keeping it in mind. Minimize time spent on the set and it is much easier! Also thinking of the trick as miraging legover helped.
