No footbag yesterday, spent time with Katie and had buffay for tea, so had no chance of playing.

Today, missed morning church, edited competitions all afternoon, they almost done. Went to a girl I new at highschool's birthday tea at a restauraunt near here. Just got home from night church for the first time this year, was good, caught up with lots of friends.

I want to get competitions out tonight so I guess no footbag AGAIN :(.

I really want to play footbag, I have so much to work on at the moment.

I appreciate how hard you work. I eagerly anticipate these comps and I thank you for putting in all of the effort. This is a really great way for the footbag community to become interactive.

Seconded. The online comps are mad... I'm so peeved I missed out on this month's. Trust me to forget until the last week, and then not be able to get the filming done :( I'm going to be more organised this month, just you see

I missed morning church because I was up until 2am last night editing church news. And then I missed night church because my whole family took off without a word, I came out of my room and everyone was gone. Oh well, I was feeling pretty tired anyway.

Thanks guys :) It's nice that so many people can enjoy these competitions.

I worked till 4:30am and got them all finished, it's now 9am, and I have just released them :D Click HERE to check em out!

Jaimeson challenged me to hit full symp tap last night, so I did it each side in 3 tries :) Man it felt good to play footbag! And to know my atomic sets are about even :D.

I also hit backside fear both sides.

4 hours sleep sucks.

Don't worry Hagesy, that killer session is coming! Just you wait buddy :)

I'm trying to find my old crochet bag to take to footbag tonight.
I want a kick bag that I can pull out if I get hacky slackers join in (as often does).
I can't find it anywhere.

I'm going to eat some toast.

Went to bed at 5am after last editing touchs on online competitoins... which took 6 hours :(. Got up 4 hours later and went to LAN with some guys from church.
They rigged the game, I got all the newbs and all the experianced players were on other team. I still held for 3 hours. Then went to beach. Played a game later on and killed my allys from previous game 2v1 :).
Fun day, but no footbag...

I want to play footbag... but so tired

I had a shit night again.
I think it's the misic. I've listened to it too much.
I've also come to the conclusion that I need to play/practice more if I want to play better (there's a NO SHIT statement, if ever there was one), and enjoy my sessions more.
Caroline played well, dispite having 2/3 weeks off.

New job is going ok. We'll see how day 2 goes.

How to make gareths footbag sessions more exciting.
1.get some new music.

2. When giving props to caroline, proceed to smack and then rub the sore spot better.

3. randomly thrust during someone elses run like that police officer with the gun in your avatar. he has got the idea.

Had to take my cat to the vet yesterday, turned out he had kidney failure and we had to have him put to sleep, which was a little tromatic as he has been my little cat for 11 years :(.
That and trying to get some tapes ripped meant that I wasn't able to shred yesterday, but early this morning (2am) I had a quick session to film some butterflies for Anssi (so he can tell me what is wrong with them).
I am having a lot of trouble stepping well out of butterflies, anyway, if anyone else is interested in helping, here is the video:
http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/6953
It's just a few drills and a couple of infinities :).
Also, I made a quick preview of some of Phil's strings of the first tape I took at his house for him, if anyone else is interested in it, it's only raw unedited footage, but here it is:
http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/6951

Solo Session 11: 30 mins (Yearly total: 24.5 hours)
Drilled: Butterfly
Notes: Took far too long to warm up, I think I had a groin strain which needed a lot of warming before it would unstiffen (...that was not ment in any kind of sick way). I hit a pathetic 12 infinities, but enough for Anssi to see the problem, also a few drills of me stepping out of butterfly.
I will have a decent session with Toby today

FINALLY! Back into footbag after 4 days without a real shred. Today's session was a bit painful becuase I think I pulled a groin muscle hitting full tap :(.

Solo Session 12: 6 hours (Total since 24/01/06: 30.5 hours)
Drilled: Ducking/spinning, butterfly, osis, fairy/atomic(half my concepts). Focus on: Stepping out of butterflies.
Notes:I spent over an hour on each conecpt which was good, so nothing was not givin enough time. Warmed up for first half hour with tiltless and some kicks.
Then onto spins and ducks. Hit 20 ducking clippers, took a while to get these back (haven't schooled em recently), then I hit 14 contacts or so of spin clip > duck clip, and a few drills like merkon > butterfly rpt and merkon > fairy clip rpt, 5 consec spin clips on flipside, somewhere between 12 and 17 on good side (I forget).
Butterfly, I hit 20 infinities to warm up, also 12 contacts of anssi's drill (ss butterfly > osis > pdx mirage rpt) and 17 of my drill (Osis > infinity > ducking clip rpt). Then it was on to stepping out of butterfly. I hit 4 ducking butterflies which was fun, and ducking butterfly > ripwalk bs. Then legbeater > blur > atomsmasher bs (not rpt yet). I managed to hit 5 ripwalks today, up from 3.
Osis was a pain in the ass as always. It took me far too long to hit 16, then I hit osis > ducking osis rpt which was fun as :).
I did my favourite fairy drill next, fear > fairy ss mirage, I got 12 contacts (old record) loads of times, and finally broke past and got 14, it would have been the 16 I was aiming for, but for no aparent reason I did a fariy ss mirage when I was ment to do a fear and screwed the drill up. AHH!
Atomic was last, I hit legbeater > pdx mirage > atomsmasher each side, coulden't hit it rpt, was too tired by this stage for hard combos.
Lastly sidewalks, I hit ripwalk into and out of both my sidewalks, too tired to go for rip > side rpt though :(.
Hit over 30 tiltless a few times to warm down, then called Katie :)

Conclusion: It's not worth playing more than about 4 hours with a pulled muscle because performance drops off.
Might be a good idea to try having 2 several hour shreds seperated by a break for streaching and regaining energy.

shit man are you still playing well at 4 hours? cos 6 hours seems like overkill to me.... like you would be so tired that any work you did on tricks would be wasted... thats what it is for me anyway

Normally I am still feeling good enough to shred, maybe a little weak at 4 hours. Shreding when you feel weak is good I find because it teaches me to do each move with as little exhurtion as possible (the way they should be done). Because I have a pulled muscle it isn't such a good idea because I think it starts to damage the muscle after a certain amount of time (this is what my body was telling me by the muscle stiffening up even though I was still active).

I will see how I feel tomorrow.

I find it hard to comprehend someone shredding for 6 hours in one solo session.

No footbag for me as i had a bad case of groinal chaffing.

peace.
