Hello people of Modified. I have never had any sort of blog, journal, diary etc. So, I figure I will go about trying to start here.

I spose I'm some what unknown to all of you. The name is Reggie Abdin. I'm 18, living in wisconsin currently but relocating for school and a few other things to florida shortly. Anything else you'd like to know, please ask.

The title of this blog is very correct, I can't play footbag, I love the sport, everything about it, would do anything for anyone that plays and have taken steps to forward the sport in my area. Fact is, I can toe stall, and inside stall some as well. I can't for the life of me toe stall on my weak side and couldn't go back and forth between them if my life depended on it. I've been at this for probably 4 to 5 months now and I've been resolved to have what I get from it. thats it. I refuse to play sand. In my opinion it is too much of a crutch and quite frankly, I'm a collector of 32 panal bags. I own at least 1 bag of nearly anything available on freedomfootbags.com and several others from elsewhere.

Footbag is very much a part of me, I wear lavers for walking around, etc carry a bag constantly and am almost always present here on modified. I can identify a great deal of tricks when watching videos and talk up footbag with the best of them. I have one friend here that is very into footbag and at times he's said I know more than him about the game, but can't do any of the things I can identify. He's up and coming though, I'm proud of him, and perhaps somewhat sad that he can do things I wish I could.

I had planned to walk away from the sport when I moved along to Florida, however, this past week, I've realized what a part of me that I can't bare giving up. So, even though I can do nothing at all, the game and all these silly little bags will follow me on down into a new life.

I've recently taken quite an interest in net. Netbag seems great to me and I love the looks of it, that same friend, matt, has agreed to follow me into my ventures with net at least some. Though there is no net community, I've asked questions, attempted to get them to talk more and get tips of the game from players but the net community seems very closed to new members and wishes only to keep the secrets of their trade to themselves. That is ok, I will continue to attempt to become part of all that, if nothing else by finding the information I seek entirely by myself.

Thats about all I have to say, I'm unsure what else I could possibly say. I will at least keep you updated as to my efforts to furthering the game both freestyle and net. I figure if I can't play I will at least do all I can to see this silly little bag inthe olympics, that is what I honestly wish. I hope I can have a hand in that in some small way to give back to something that has touched my life in a very profound way.

Dude, I've been playing for 3 months and I can do very little as well. Although I have seen improvement and progression, my progression is much slower than those around me. I also started on just 32's, I don't think I've used a sandbag yet.

You should really keep at it man. It's so satisfying when you do actually hit something. Maybe you just need to find people who can give you pointers. And when you can't stall anything on your flipside, drill it harder! Maybe when you move to Florida in a bigger pond, you'll find more people to play with you. I've seen a few Floridians on Modified.

Keep us posted on your progression. Don't just troll around here.

I'll keep reading your blog in hopes that you've hit your flipside.

Where in Florida will you be moving to? There are a couple very good shredders in Miami, and one of the best Shreditas in the sport is in Lakeland. I'm guessing that the shred scene in Florida is much bigger than in Wisconsin, so I think you are making a good decision in not quitting the sport when you move there. Check out the club listings on www.footbag.org for Florida and see if you can look up people in the area.

As for footbag itself, do take advantage of the beginner forums on Modified, as well as the trick tips forum.

Good luck on your footbag journey, and definitely post your progress here. The community supports you. I personally look forward to seeing your progress.

If you really want to learn somehting on your "flipside," or as we used to call it, your weakside, dont even try a strong side attempt at trick X until you can land it on your flip side 5 out of 10 times. Exclusively practice your flip. You will see that after only a few sessions, maybe weeks, that your flip will actually catch up to or even surpass the ability of your current "strongside."

I'm moving to Largo Florida, near Tampa. And yes, I plan to try stallign with my flip side quite a bit more, thank you for the support, all of you. I'm real stoked to play with Forrest, he's going to be choice one day, mark my words!

Got my new Net bag yesterday, they are rather weird because I'm of course used to 32 panals and something I can work with my hands. However, I'm stoked to play some net.

As far as freestyle goes, I've spent a good amount of time working forrest into choicesness(is that even a word?) I was actually able to hit a couple stalls both main side and flip, I was rather proud, but I'm not able to go back and forth between feet. Practice makes perfect.

On a side note, I know this blog isn't all that interesting because I can't hit anything. However, I thought it would be interesting to watch progression from nothing to maybe one day being tiltless or guiltless. That and I just want to keep track of this for myself if no one else. peace out guys.
